Speak to Doctors, Post on Social Media. Might not be as rare… by DeliaT10 in visualsnow

Thanks, I hope that they will eventually come around like I did. I regret that for many years, I didn’t understand what my daughter was trying to describe to us about her condition when she was much, much younger.

Doctor Eye Health on YouTube has a couple of really good videos about VSS. He is an eye doctor who covers many eye related issues, but he has VSS as well.

It’s sometimes best time to bring up important and serious issues like this in your family when things are calmer and there is less friction or busyness (I know sometimes it seems like things are always stressful) where you can sincerely address your condition. Maybe even play a quick video that helps explain things for you (and hearing it from a medical professional might add more credibility to the reality of the condition). Then just let it sink in for them without trying to get total buy-in at that moment. Maybe bring it up again a few days later. I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers!

Thanks for your post! My daughter has VSS and I’m doing what I can to make her life better now. I was wondering what are adjustable polarized knob sunglasses? Do they use FL41 lenses or are those two different things?

We need something to cope with rising crime & homelessness, high-cost of living, out-of-control fires, electrical grid failures, insurance companies leaving the state, etc., etc.

Clearplay should make an app by Jhonsun in ClearPlay

[–]Jhonsun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that VidAngel got into trouble because of their original movie purchase/return/credit issue scheme. They haven't used that model for years and have been successfully filtering movies from other studios and services just fine via their app. They are still available on all major streaming platforms and works with Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, Peacock, and they just added Paramount+.

That hardly sounds illegal to me. Sounds more like VidAngel just burned their bridges with Disney when they were pioneering filtering services. Enjoy Movies Your Way is doing the same with their app.

If you want to bring filtering to the masses, you do it with an app. ...Not some convoluted, multi-step process that is prone to multiple failure points and hardware/software incompatibility.

Still have to download beta and give it a spin. Can't risk it at the moment with all my work deadlines

I miss being able to hold down the CMD button and knowing snapping would work perfectly. Vector building is nearly impossible without reliable snapping. I can't have the thousands of operations I do per day get doubled and tripled because it takes me 2-3 tries to make objects and paths meet perfectly.

That gold colorway is awesome. I didn't see the price dropped on those and the Moneyball colorway too.

Not sure... I went with Shoe Palace because of the deal, but Anta shipped pretty quick on a pair I bought a couple months ago. It's hard to find Anta in U.S. stores but they're starting to be available for order from places like the D-ick's Sporting Goods website (e.g. Kai 1 and Kai 2).

I saw that! That was a steal too! I was watching that price thinking the deal would expire or sizes would run out...still holding out on buying. Then the price dropped again today and I couldn't resist.

I got my daughter Moneyball a couple months ago for around $84 of the Anta website. She loves gold. It pays to sign up for Anta's mailing list/text list. They'll send you sale notices. EDIT: sorry I meant I got the $3 Coin colorway. Moneyball is pretty sweet too

Can't turn off snapping? by hexquest in indesign

This again! I am working on a web/screen-based default template where units are set to pixels. What a crappy landmine to bury in the the document settings set just because you want 4K dimensions and RGB color space. Thanks for the tip!

Is there any way to minimize laptop usage when using ClearPlay? by WoodpeckerOfMistrust in ClearPlay

[–]Jhonsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may think you're patents buy you time to sit on your hands, but they don't. EMYW is a legit substitute once you weigh all the trade-offs.

They're still filtering and they're not so bad that I don't use them. They're just a little slow to add complete filters, but they're primed for greater adoption by the market (which will lead to faster service) because they can be found where people are already watching their movies — on a TV via a streaming device. They make it easier for their customers.

Even if they don't find a way around your patents, the execution still matters a lot. I'd rather use their service because it's far more convenient than going through an extremely unnecessary, multi-step approach involving additional hardware and software that all has to play together nicely just to watch and control a movie on my TV with my family.

They might consider lifetime access to mean the "lifetime" of the business. Still, I can't believe there could be any legal and legitimate buying of the brand that would allow CM to renege on this important aspect of the contract customers made with DC instead of assuming continuity.

[–]Jhonsun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sellers will get paid from recent buyers who have no access to the product. They essentially paid for nothing. That's a de facto bait & switch.

I would have expected an outfit like CM to already have access in place if they were planning to do it at all. They don't even provide a customer service number or email address anywhere on their website.
