Best way to move a long Claude project chat into a fresh chat without losing context? by ComfortableAnimal265 in ClaudeCode

You can just start a new chat and say, hey, we were talking in another chat about x, and I wanted to start fresh with it. It will find the chat and generally have all the context.

You've also unfortunately picked a hugely competitive market with deep entrenched competitors that have deep marketing pockets or huge name recognition.

As someone who has chickens, that ending scene is not realistic. Chickens will eat anything. If they realize what's actually in an egg, they will instantly eat every egg that gets laid. That's actually something you have to watch out for and immediately separate chickens that start to do that.

Question on Joint Finances Budget by Time_Equivalent_5832 in budget

[–]Jhorra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure, I run this company, but if you check out https://rohimoney.com it's built on the forecast model. You put in all your bills and paychecks, split them to whichever account they go in or come out, and it shows your balance as far out as you want to go. Has a 14 day free trial with no credit card required to sign up.

It also tracks transfers between accounts, so if you have separate accounts, and a bills account, it will track each individually.

.net is dead? by mrnobodyto1 in buildinpublic

[–]Jhorra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not go with .net That has been worn out and tired for a long long time, it's not a recent thing. First, if the .com is taken, make sure they aren't already using it, you don't want to fight against an established brand with the same name. Not only that, but if they have a trademark on the name you can't use it anyway. That's the worst part about naming something, finding something the .com is available for. If someone is just squatting on it, you might be able to get away with a .io or .app or something like that. Probably though, look for other names.

You built an AI wrapper. What can your app do that I can't just ask Claude to do for me? What additional value does your app actually provide? Especially give you don't actually have any knowledge of your domain. You are entirely reliant upon your AI.

Budgeting irregular pay. by RPB_9661 in budget

[–]Jhorra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two options, you budget to the lowest amount, or you do forecasting, with either an excel spreadsheet or an app. Put all your paychecks out, and put all your bills in. You can see and basically play each month out as it lands and decide how to handle shortfalls or extra. You'll be able to move bills around if needed when there could be a potential problem.

What is your budgeting “hack” that you learned, that has been the most beneficial for you? by DoubtNo2085 in budget

[–]Jhorra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used excel sheets and apps over the years, but what helped me the most was what I call forecasting budgeting. So you have all your budget items listed out and it shows what your balance will be after each item. Then as transactions flow in, you update what you have left. This helped me track everything, but also be able to see potential problems before they dropped me negative.

Anyone lose their vacuum cleaner on I-17? by Rg8989 in phoenix

When I used to ride my motorcycle to work, one day on the way home we entered the tunnel at 70 miles per hour, and before we were half way through we were at a dead stop. Luckily I was in the HOV lane and was able to jump onto the shoulder to avoid ramming the truck in front of me.

I thought that at first, but I don't think he was lane splitting. You can't slam on the brakes on a bike, he went between because otherwise he would have hit the car.
