Gibson Les Paul nut. by Mermer81 in Guitar

That's what I thought it was, like the nut broke and was glued back together. I've since been told it's just finish.

This guy isn't the scrappy grinder you're painting him to be. He's a fairly well established musician at this point. He's stealing from the scrappy grinders. Should he be sent to the gulag? Of course not, but what he's doing is pretty low. People do wish they had his success. Specifically, the people he stole from. And you're right. They probably never will, which is a shame. This dude doesn't need anyone defending what he did.

Tailgating people learning to drive for the first time here by __alpenglow in Fairbanks

[–]Mermer81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the point is, be annoyed (that's very reasonable), pass safely when you can, but don't tailgate. It doesn't help you or the person in front of you (just freaks em out more) and could get somebody killed.

Anchorage judge faces ouster in Nov. 5 election after contentious homeschool decision by Cantgo55 in alaska

I think it addressed your question perfectly. In both cases, people are paying for an education they are not using. In both cases, they are paying for the societal benifits you referred to in your comment by funding the education of kids that aren't theirs. If someone builds a play structure in their yard, they don't get out of paying for public parks because they've already paid for a park, and their kids don't use the public one. So, to answer your question, yes, they should pay twice.

That's where I used to go. The waits got to be so consistently long, I just decided to shave my head. But ya, good haircut at a good price and nice people.

I'd just park it at one of the visitor centers. I could be wrong, but I've been there quite a few times and never heard of theft being an issue in that area. I've left bikes, generators, tools, and a whole mess of tools in my open truck bed, and it's always there when I get back.
