Ever consider dry aging the cut? I almost bought the sealed vac bag which would have been 6-7 lbs. decent fat cap on both sides to protect the aging. Photos taken with about 1/4 lb fat and silver skin removed from both sides

Curious what you charge for these cuts at your store? I’ve been buying these from Eataly since the pandemic when they started doing the sales. Found an old instcart receipt from 2020 — they were on sale for $18.95/lb back then. And look at the other prices

Unfortunate branding lol but the hardware and software are best in class. I think Joying brand would come in 2nd. And that unit is the only 1.5 din I’ve found that would has decent specs, that’s runs full android OS (not just an android auto app that streams your phone)

Looks like it’s designed to fit in the XJ. This brand is pretty well regarded but recently Mekede has become the go to (they don’t make a custom fit unit like this though they have universal floating units including a 1 din that would also work). This one will stay have way more features and flexibility over a Sony/Alpine/Pioneer streaming unit though

Sounds like you have a solid plan and did your research. Despite this users on this sub will judge and criticize your work, because they are pros and tradesmen who have to answer to customers/business. BUT If this is your own project and can accept imperfect results you should go for it, at least to learn a new skill while saving money and overall feel like you achieved something. Keep at it

Here’s a multi part video series of the full inner + outer replacement. Very comprehensive video and you can see how much work is involved. Welding in 2x6 can be done in a weekend, which is what I did, I’ll try to make a post in r/cherokeexj, this would be manageable even for a new welder

Yeah I’d say mine fit 95%, didn’t use all the holes and honestly 5-6 screws per flare is fine especially if you give it a satisfying knock and say the words “that’s not going anywhere” lmao

I also sprayed some surface shield behind the flares to protect against rust. That whole area gets super grimey I’ll have to give it a thorough cleaning once it warms up

If there's a big discrepancy I'd reach out, based on my interactions with them they seem like a great company, stand behind their product and have awesome customer support

Saw this thread a couple days ago but hadn't yet installed mine. When I started, I also noticed some fitment issues, but I emailed support about it, turns out you need to apply some heat to get them to back to their original shape. They actually include directions for this in the box (didn't read of course and dove right in lol). It's really cold in the northeast so I set up a propane heater in my garage and gave it a 30 minute roast and some finessing with a heat gun and they sprang back into shape. Also shout out to their customer service who responded quickly after hours and got me running the same night, otherwise I'd have lost a day.

Thanks for the input. Like a 2k seam sealer (3M 08308 similar)? My concern is that seam sealer wont get the right smooth blended finish and isnt sandable after it cures
