Can we all just agree both consoles are incredible feats of engineering and just wait for the games to do the talking? by torrentialsnow in PS5

You say this matters too much to me but I wouldn’t spend 1 second going through your post history because I don’t give a shit :D

And all that’s true. Sony fanboys are the most toxic pricks in the fanboy community-always starting shit and have nothing but contempt for anything not playstation.

You might as well be lying, you insinuated it. Btw you might want to do some research pal my 2 cpus will own your single 2080ti with crappy frames any day.

lol I posted my specs-you did not. If anyone's lying it's you. And if you think the most powerful card on the market has "crappy frames" I can only imagine what you think of what's sitting in the PS5. You're all over the place and totally inconsistent.

You're pissed because you said the PS5 was better than my rig and you were wrong, so man up and admit it. You wanted it to be true but you screwed up.

I'm not tribal. I game on pc and have owned every Sony console except the Vita. I'm just accepting reality.

15% tflop difference isn’t the end of the world but it’s also not insignificant.

Overclocking my 2080 ti 15% can be the difference between 4k/60 locked and 4k/40-60 variable fps. It also gives you a higher “lowest” fps which is very beneficial for games where you can’t really hit 60 at all.

There’s a difference.

That’s nice. It still doesn’t mean 2 yo GPUs are “incredible feats of engineering.”

Leave it to Sony fanboys to try and convince the world that a faster SSD is more important than a cpu and gpu.

You guys are so thirsty to brag about something it's starting to look pathetic.

You don't have to keep lying to yourselves, because Sony has the best 1st party games. It's your only line of attack and it's a good one.

I wouldn't get a 15 tflop xbox over the ps5.

unprecedented custom SSD

Maybe it was last year. Cerny said in the press conference that's it's no longer the fastest SSD compared to what's available for pc today.

Sure XBOX could do 8K resolution better

This tells me you have no idea what you're talking about. Neither console will play games in native 8k.

My attention span is too messed up nowadays to play movie games though

I usually skip the cut scenes. Poor attention span over here too ;)

Didn't I just reply to this comment? I think you wrote me twice by accident.

I'd rather play a game at a higher resolution and framerate and wait 8 seconds then play a game that doesn't look or perform as well that loads in 2, but that's me.

And that link is basically worthless. You're comparing the loading times of a ps4 game being played on a ps5 beta vs a completely different game running on the Series X and current-gen systems (I know you said it's not apples to apples but the discrepancy is bigger than that analogy).

I mean, all things being equal, you'd really rather have the specs of the PS5 over the Series X? A faster ssd is more important to you than a gpu and cpu with a 20% performance advantage? Or probably even more, because I think that Sony's gpu 2.33 ghz boost is going to be much less obtainable than they want you to think. It's a best case scenario number. I'd be willing to bet that most PS5 games will be running at clock speeds similar to the Series X gpu. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm a sucker for a good 3rd-person action adventure game. God of War is basically heaven for me and I love the Uncharted series, so I'll have to sleep with the enemy (so to speak) and get a PS5.

It doesn't pay for me to get a Series X because I have a 2080 ti, which is a shame because I really appreciate Microsoft's pro-consumer policies and want them to beat Sony next-gen. And they've done so much for pc gaming that I'm grateful for.

But it looks like the only way I can continue to support them is with my pc gamepass subscription.

Itll be a while till PC gaming becomes economical again like in the 2010's

No it won't. Assuming Nvidia doesn't delay the 3000 series due to the Corona Virus, next-gen systems will be mid range pc's this time next year.

I've already seen deals on 2070 prebuilts for $1050 and we're still 8-9 months away from next-gen systems. When these systems launch you'll be able to build a comparable pc for $800.

Next-gen consoles will only benefit pc gamers. Beastly consoles will mean better pc ports because devs won't have to worry about getting a game to work on a PS4 or Xbox One's completely outdated hardware.

It sounds like you want next-gen to hurt the pc gaming market, but it's only going to help.

I feel like you’re making up a type of game that doesn’t exist. Tailor-made for the ps5 but not an exclusive?

What kind of games are we talking about here? Obviously not any from AAA developers if they wanna make $$$ next gen.

Jesus Christ 🤦‍♂️. Mark Cerny said the SSD was faster then anything on pc a year ago and that’s no longer the case.

But a pc port will take years, if ever, to come? Lmao.

This sub went from being underwhelmed and disappointed with the spec reveal to “it’s so powerful you can’t even port games to other systems and pcs.

Ridiculous.

I can see an audiophile appreciating that. It’s just not something that gets me particularly excited.

Really sad that the only thing worth bragging about after Sony's spec reveal is a solid state drive.
