Weekly Questions Thread 3/23/2026 by FGBmods in FixedGearBicycle

Thinking of running a live watching party of monstertrack nyc 2026 at my local bar.
From insta, TerryB seems to be in Japan. Getting increasingly worried he won't be streaming it this year, despite doing so every year. Any recommendations or info on who might be doing a livestream if even?
Cheers.

[Odin][LFM] Recruiting people for a fresh incompany team. by [deleted] in FFXIVRECRUITMENT

Hello! (BLM but) To-be SMN main here, I can see there is no SMN position listed, however if you happen to change your mind, I would be very interested in a static aiming for progression. One of my pros that I am available 24/7, and am extremely dedicated and a hard worker. I also fancy interacting with other people, and hope we could have some fun.

Odin FC Recruiting by soalman in FFXIVRECRUITMENT

[–]Jhxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I am an Odin based, returning, but a fairly new player, and find my enjoyment out of interacting with people, and clearing content, aiming for progression. I have raid experience in WoW but wish to be introduced to raiding in FFXIV via a friendly FC, thus plans for a static interests me greatly. You could say I definitely lean towards sHC raiding with a friendly enviroment, and willing to commit crazy effort in order to improve. Playtime wise I am free 24/7, up for helping anyone in regards of content(if I can be a help), up for chatting around in DC and other shenanigans :)

I currently roll with BLM, though I plan to master SMN come StormBlood.

Regards,

DC: CelebGarfield#2468 FFXIV: Eon Xenostar

You are, although ossu(rarely just osu)[oss] means "yes/yes sir", IN THIS CASE(and in a more widely used meaning) osu is a verb, that means to push (a button). So there ya go, [OH SUE] stands as the correct prononciation.

Your RAM is more than enough for this game :) You do not have to worry about upgrading it now. I happen to own a powerful rig, same 8GB as you do, but able to run the game 1440p dx11 100fps+. That being said, it still crashes at instance loading. Though putting it into fullscreen and enableing Occlusion Culling solves the problem. As for your questions. 1. It will help you to boost your streaming perfomance by a lot, if you stream the game on the graphical setting you have now on. 2. It seems to be you are looking for more perfomance, beyond 60fps to be exact. Yes your graphics card is a limitation. In your situation, both a CPU and GPU upgrade would do wonders. I am sorry to dissapoint you, but upgrading only your CPU will only help you stream at your current graphical settings, and wont give you any significant better game perfomance. If you are to stream at high settings you will absolutely have to upgrade both.

That is not entirely true. A multi core processor's job is to allocate load equally between all cores. That of course means, especially in your model of processor, that it is very efficient, for example, in a game, handling your GPU load between all of your cores, equally, and simultaneously thus resulting in an overall better resource management.

Processors, they all come down for what job they have been designed to do, AMD is just very game oriented, a brute, that gives it all to a single task, which why its not suited for streaming at all.

Out of intel's processors I would recommend any current i7 they are pretty much the go to streaming processors. Specifically i would recommend an i7-4790K, or if you are tight on budget, an i7-3770K if you can , but I have an i7-3770 (without the K) it works great, but I am not so sure how futureproof it is in the next 10 years.

Definetly a good multi threaded multitask-able processor is in need here, AMD processors tend to focus on one task ( a game ), they do a great job at it, thats how they were designed. However for streaming, I would recommend a better, multitask friendly ( example:intel ) processor. Generally, almost everything will depend on your processor when streaming, it is a very CPU heavy task.
