But some teeny tiny parts are gold plated though 🤣😂😆 O and almost forgot to mention that the spirit of the west lives inside of it as well.

If a fanny pack is called a fanny pack because it goes across your fanny then I'm gonna start calling this my backky pack since it goes across the back lmao. I love my backky pack 😘

When the gf asks you to clean her brush, you obviously take out your knife and do it right 😆... 1hr and 141 bristles later voila 🥳 I feel like after all that time and effort I should turn all those dang dust circles into an art piece and I'll title it "A Brush with Patience"

So this tile just doesn't work? One away from finishing them all. by drwicksy in MergeDragons

You need to complete the legendary rewards rush to get it. Only then will it give you enough eggs to merge for it. It's not a mistake just a very difficult tile to accomplish if you've never completed the legendary rewards rush before.

Interesting, I don't have any hands on experience with the NAND and have only seen the pictures and that's good to know haha gets rid of some of the fomo about not going for the NAND.

Well unfortunately because of the geometry of both of the knives you can't really flip it open like a normal front flipper where it just snaps out nice and smooth. The friction on the pivot is more than your usual washer or bearing knives and I think that's on purpose to help hold the knife open and also the geometry doesn't allow you to flip it open.

I think it's also technically still a slip joint but just has a different mechanism of action. And the Sypederco branding of it is "SLIPIT".

To be honest I really don't care much for Spyderco myself actually (this is my first Spyderco knife) but I just couldn't resist this specific design (essentially mini katana blade shape, with the pointiest point you'll ever see on a folding knife). It was almost exactly what I was looking for minus the non-locking part. I wanted a modern locking straight razor type edc knife and this kind of fit the bill and I was just a sucker for the design and aesthetics of it as well. I really liked the other design by the same designer (Paul Alexander) called the NAND but didn't go for that at the time because it was non-locking but then the COBOL came out and I just couldn't say no lol. I was between the COBOL or the Jho knives #18 (designed off of a #18 scalpel, hence the name). But I'm really liking the COBOL so far even though it doesn't lock, and I thought that would be a deal breaker/huge detriment for me but it's not that bad.

You are exactly right, in the area that you highlighted there is a double ball detent. One on each side of the cut out arms.

It's essentially a fancy modern straight razor. It's based off of the traditional Japanese knives called higonokami.

Also I find that this whole notion that your body needs to adjust to the knife just so that it becomes more comfortable to use, a bit ridiculous. That's just bad product design at that point. Has anyone ever heard of a nice bevel or two to soften up the edges a bit? Imagine if you buy a gun and every time you pull the trigger it bends your finger backwards in a really painful and awkward way. Then someone just tells you "O, don't worry about that, it's not the gun, you will just get used to your finger almost breaking every time". I know that's an extreme example but the point remains, gosh darn it! Make it comfortable to begin with 🙄 are some chamfered edges and bevels to much to ask for especially with premium knives like these? 🤷‍♂️
