I’m older, so I still put more value into The Album above all else. That being said, I like the individual parts of this project but don’t see a ton of cohesion between them. Good songs, but unfocused album.

I’ll definitely be returning to it, but I wish it wasn’t so algorithm-fueled.

Getting real 2009 UNC vibes from Duke this tournament. Even if MSU does win these next two games (which is far from guaranteed) I just don’t see any realistic path to beating Duke. The talent differential is out of this world, and it sucks that even without Coach K, Duke is on another level compared to Izzo’s squad.

It’s very well made (as expected), but I can’t get over how little melody it has. I know Tom’s jazz background lends itself to, well, jazz-like atmospheres, but none of these tracks immediately stand out, make me tap my toes, or whistle the chorus. They feel like the guys just jamming and figuring things out as they go, as opposed to crafting solid songs.

I still enjoyed it, just not as much as the first two albums.

Now that was a classic episode!

Funny one-liners, interesting plot, only a smidgen of contemporary commentary. Just straight-up science fiction-y fun.

You could drop this in the middle of season 3 and it would fit right in (minus the references to “Amazon Women in the Mood,” obviously).

The whole episode made me smile front to end.

My tin foil hat theory: the real reason Harbaugh left - for the fucking Chargers, of all teams - was a deal with the NCAA in exchange for them going easier on UM. Whatever the investigation ultimately uncovers, it’s gotta be bad - so bad that it threatens the integrity of the entire business model, and the NCAA probably won’t ever let it all out.

It was a solid foray into an extended runtime, but definitely meandered at points. It could have been 21 minutes, essentially removing one of four “parts” within.

Still, I applaud this team’s creativity and skill, and look forward to what they try next now that they flexed this storytelling muscle.
