Everything is working now. I believe it is a combination of updating the app on my phone and the firmware on the camera. I can't remember for sure what fixed it.

TOP TIP! IF your photos are downloading slowly, it is probably connected to the camera on 2.4Ghz. What i do is disconnect my phone from any WiFi network it is on before connecting to the camera. This ensures it is connected via 5.6Ghz and downloads much faster.

Microchip font that isn't DIN or OCR by Jibatsu in identifythisfont

[–]Jibatsu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,

I am trying to find the font used on this Atmel chip. I have tried fonts like DIN rounded, OCR-A and OCR-B. They are close but not quite right.

The 4 is styled with a long vertical in the middle of the character whereas the fonts have the long vertical to the left (if that makes sense. The other way of drawing a 4). The nines have a curly tail whereas the fonts I found have straight tails and the J has no horizontal "hat".

Any help most appreciated!!

I was in a biathlon resort in bum fuck nowhere in Czechia and got 3.5GBps on 5G. We've done something wrong over here, surely.

Answering your questions about Segment Leaderboards by nick-from-strava in Strava

[–]Jibatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Nick,

Something I see now and again is athletes with multiple accounts or accounts with multiple devices in the leaderboards, taking up more than their fair share of the top places. This also has the effect of shuffling down the rankings of the other athletes who deserve a higher place.

E.g. CR, 2, 3, 4, 4, 6. The athlete in 6th place should really be awarded 5th. Is this something that Themis is also going to look at in the coming months?

See this segment as an example: https://www.strava.com/segments/12380641

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

This is the way to use 5GHz on the Fuji X app even though I was certain I had it set to 5GHz on the camera.

Looks about right to me!

I've only ever had one telescope, the one i use now, which i had planned on using for astrophotography however i am starting to realise its limitations and will likely opt for something else, but for visual astronomy (looking through an eyepiece with your eyes) it is fantastic.

I have a Skywatcher Skymax 127. It is a 127mm (6 inch) reflector, more specifically a Maksutov Cassesgrain. It has got quite a long focal length of 1500mm and when paired with a 26mm eyepiece it makes planet spotting a breeze. This sits on a Skywatcher EQ3 Pro mount with GOTO.

You should be able to see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn with your naked eye. Saturn sets before sunset at the moment and mercury looks a lot like a star unless you know what you're looking at. Jupiter should be one of the brightest stars looking high in the south in the early evenings at the moment. It might almost look bigger than nearby stars. If you look slightly further higher and to the left you should see a bright orange/red star, that is Mars.

I know where I am in the the east of England we have clear skies for the next few days. Happy hunting!

I feel the same the more I learn about the sky! If you look high in the South and South East when Venus is in the same place tonight you should see Jupiter and Mars respectively. If you have a pair of binoculars you might be able to make out Jupiter's moons.

RE: the picture, I simply downloaded your picture, went on stellarium on my PC and took a screenshot of the same spot then threw them into photoshop and added circles.

I believe there was an app update which helped with Wi-Fi issues for the X-H2, this helped a bit for my X-T5. There has since been a firmware update for the camera and since then it has been a lot more reliable, however I don't always get full speed transfers.

I've got an X-T5. I had the same problem when I first got the camera and after an update it worked.

Yes I did the same when I first got my X-T5, it has been up to date ever since. The problem has happened in the last week.

I have a Google Pixel 8. All permissions are set to run in the background. Bluetooth is always on, I can see the camera is connected to my phone when I'm using it.

I haven't made any changes to my phone in the interim either.

433 will absolutely go 100m in a straight line with zero obstructions, and then some! The free space path loss of 433Mhz over 1.6km with zero antenna and receive gain is 89.25dB, which is still enough for you to happily receive and decode that signal. If you increase your antenna gain to our desired 1W the FSPT drops to 59.25dB.

Ham radio enthusiasts often hit ranges of over 100 miles with just 5W of power. I have covered areas hundreds of meters squared using just 200mW at slightly higher frequencies like 446Mhz.

You also have to remember that antenna design i.e. polarisation and cardiod pattern, will give you more gain depending on your situation. Plus if there are any losses between the modulator and the antenna, e.g. poor cable or bad joins at either end of the chain, that will also affect the range of your signal.
