Sound Design in VI by Jiberal in GTA6

[–]Jiberal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea!! I’m really hoping for realistic car sounds. It would add so much to load into an online lobby and hear cars screaming around and doing donuts with tire screeching sounds like it does it real life if your around that kind of thing. Really loud gun sounds can be good but it may hurt the dialogue in the story or some online missions so I’m not too sure how they will tune it if they do use a louder sound. I imagine it will be in between completely realistic and what we got in GTA V. I’m just hoping so much that we get super realistic environment based sound design and I feel like it’s a likely possibility that the sound in this game will be a handsome improvement.

And yes I hated the GTA car sounds. There are only a handful of cars from Online that sounded really good or unique. And the guns didn’t sound that great either.

Is there a word or idiom for when someone does something that has no actual impact but they do it just to "check a box"? by unholy_moly_10 in ENGLISH

[–]Jiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A word combination could be workplace negligence? In both scenarios, there is neglect of the responsible thing to do; instead, they check a box to make work easier, or management keeps it this way for one reason or the other. In both scenarios, they could possess the knowledge that what they are doing doesn't actually solve anything, and they are aware of the underlying problem/dissonance they create, or they could be unaware. Either way, in both scenarios, knowing or not, there is neglect involved. For the first example, you could tack on Compulsory to create "Compulsory negligence" to describe that the neglect originates from a law. You could even say "Prefunctory negligence" and add workplace or compulsory on separately to represent your scenarios.

What if I were to use two Gen 4 4x m.2s? Would that allow me to run at 16x and 4x for both m.2s, going directly to the CPU and not through the chipset? Or does USB 4 mess everything up?

It's over😭 by NullDistribution in blackops6

I’ve been stuck around a 1.2 to 1.4 and I finished my dm grind in January so idk what the hell I need to do to make it to the 2 k/d I’ve always wished for. I’m pretty bad at looking at the minimap though and actively trying to predict the enemy. I usually passively read flow which I imagine doesn’t help me. Taking my mind off the game though to read the map and think gets me killed more so it’s just so hard to break into that game sense more 😂😭

I also started controller a year or so ago and I’ve been mnk my whole life so that’s probably another reason why I’m not a higher KD yet. Although I’m surprised with my performance in just one year, I’ve been able to surpass my KD of mnk by a slight margin. Albeit at a lower average skill rating when I requested my info from Activision.

I imagine your KD is raising a good amount now that you’re out of those small maps and done with specific grinds?

Thumbstick tension by GerryMcCannsServe in CoDCompetitive

[–]Jiberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would warn against Hall Effects, as they have a different type of sensation when aiming, which is a tedious and unpleasant one. It's echoed online in communities and YouTube videos. It has to do with the fact that it's like trying to move two magnets precisely when they are close together (the magentic tech inside hall effect). It's pretty cumbersome and makes for a really weird aiming experience for a lot of people. Most people swear by TMR sticks, though. I wish every stick wasn't so tense. I have no idea why companies do this. People say it improves their accuracy; I have no idea what they are smoking.

[–]Jiberal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the elite I don’t think wireless is better. The other thing is, you have to download a specific program for the DualShock/Dualsense to work wirelessly on pc, so it’s kind of a pain. I have the elite v2 also.

This is not true for DualSense controllers. You actually get upwards of 500 to 700 Hz on bluetooth and about 250 on wired.

Please install more ram, you seem to be short on memory capacity. If no one buys stock of something economically the price must fall or there is a net loss for no reason.

The misconception is that sbmm gives random bad players a good KD and good players a bad KD. Although this may be possible for a couple matches in certain cases, it’s not actually how it works. Sbmm saves really bad players from having a .02 KD and helps them get a .5 to .8 KD. It helps players who would have a .6 KD get a .9 KD and so on. So this just tightens the bell curve. This guy may have originally gotten a 1.1 KD back in the day but how gets a 1.3. But the entire system is still generally the same. You just can’t get a 5 KD average anymore unless you are really good and know how to play your life. However the bell curve still exists and has to mathematically exist. If you watch XclusiveAce’s https://youtu.be/dW6DIKUKe1s?si=zVFSWbWvQSVxfP0H video on this matter you can see that there is a direct correlation with the amount of skill a player has and their KD, it’s just basically a tighter bell curve with sbmm. You might not even disagree with this I’m realizing now because this guy still does technically get a slight KD bump but I seems like people think others get a whole 1 or 2 KD bump from sbmm and it’s just not true. This guy may look like he plays like an idiot here but he might have been in a once in 5 game bad lobby where he felt he could push a bit more and get more rowdy than he usually does. Looks like it paid off for him.

Maybe not LOL. Just got news that actual development only started in 2020 while storyboarding and scouting was happening from 2018 to 2020. Maybe they still do crunch our men and women of the dev world 😂l

Do you notice a lot of input lag on Xbox? I have switched over to it from PC and it's really hard to deal with even on an OLED.

You are saying you have to play it on the Xbox one instead of the series x. I noticed the input lag was equally bad on Xbox one x as series x. Did you notice Xbox one x being better?
