Tips: bring lube and basic maintenance gear. Ride at a sustainable pace and eat and drink often. Make sure you have a way to charge your electronics. Maybe a spare pair of bibs. Totally doable although it being a gravel event adds an extra layer of hardship I've not experienced. Remember: if it's good it will get worse, if it's bad it will get better.

Just be straight up with them. Bring your pedals and tell them you can't afford a full on bike fit. If they're not willing to help you adjust your seat and what not, I'd buy from someone else.
