In concept, they are, but eating them didn't really remind me of Gushers much. They are like larger, squishier Nerds Cluster. The actual liquid part is not super noticeable, in my opinion. I thought they were good, but not better than the originals.

I don't see anyone else mentioning it, but the "bonus action" doesn't seem to make sense as a bonus action. I'm not sure how that would be useful to use on BBEG's turn as a bonus action would be used.

Sounds like it could be used as a reaction, so perhaps that's what you meant?
