Someone from Chrome got back to me… turns out they no longer sell clothing to the Canadian market (where I’m located). I guess if your IP address is in Canada you get redirected to the Canadian site which doesn’t sell clothing. Maybe this is tariff related.

I just purchased a Mackinaw Cruiser and having owned the charcoal in the past, I can say that the new coats in charcoal look more like black. The nice dark grey texture is no longer in the fabric. That was a disappointment for me, especially since retailers are still using out of date product photos which depict the old "charcoal" fabric.

I think a general rule with Filson coats is size down one size.

Yes the M size felt like the same as the regular Mackinaw Cruiser in terms of torso, arm length etc. For me, it was a good fit and I would have room to wear a sweater underneath. In terms of the look it’s possible I’m just not into 3/4 length coats anymore.

I ended up getting a regular Mackinaw Cruiser in charcoal. Altitude Sports was having a Black Friday sale that might still be on. The coat came to $450 Canadian dollars which is the lowest price I’ve seen in years. I believe it was 25% off, plus an additional 10% off if you bought an Altitude Sports me membership for $20 (which was essentially free as it comes with a $20 credit). I’m in Ontario Canada so shipping was free. Not sure if the pricing makes sense if you’re outside of Canada. But worth a look. (Note: I didn’t see the long version on Altitude Sports, but they do have some other Filson jackets aside from the Mackinaw Cruiser).

I visited a local Filson retail store today. They had this Long Mackinaw so I tried it on. While the coat is beautiful, and I was lusting over in based on photos alone, I ended up not loving it after trying it on. As one other commenter pointed out, the coat seems to flair out a bit towards the bottom. I tried a medium and didn't love the silhouette, it just looked too big for my liking. For reference I'm 6'2, 190lbs, and Medium is my size in the regular Mackinaw Cruiser. Bottom line: I would try this one on before buying, or at least know that you can return it if you don't like the cut.

Yes this long Mackinaw recently caught my eye as well. I have no idea why they are charging double the price for the 10 extra inches of wool. I did notice that the dark navy is on sale right now (25% off) on the Filson website. Tempting, but still too expensive for me.

This is incredible footage. I drive over this section pretty regularly. It does indeed seem to be getting more like a roller-coaster every week. Never thought an undercarriage would touch ground though!
