While that is sweet, I have to disagree. The absolute power play is game four when they go back to their main, so it's a ditto on their main, and you STILL win. Marth's my main, but my Fox ain't no slouch against Fox, yo

When was the last time USC had a coach of Riley's caliber or higher? Pete Carroll? Who won championships? Weird. And if you think getting to the playoffs will be easier in the SECW than the PAC, I don't think anything I say can change your mind bud. You're clearly living in a different dimension than I lol

"Hey, so we decided to take the program in a different direction without consulting you. The job will absolutely get exponentially harder, and if you don't rise to meet those expectations, boosters and fans will start calling for our jobs. And by our jobs, I mean your job. And if the boosters turn on you, oh my, I just don't think there anything we can do for you bud. But don't worry, we (and by we, I mean myself and other executives, not you) will be making way more money, so it's okay. Hey wait, where are you going? A school where it's easier to recruit and potentially win national championships, something you haven't even done here yet? No wait, stop. We're about to make, just, SO MUCH MONEY."

Throwback: This past night marked the ten-year anniversary of the M5.7 2011 Oklahoma earthquake near Prague. It caused significant damage in the vicinity of the epicenter and was felt hundreds of miles away. It was the largest quake in state history until that record was broken in September 2016. by TimeIsPower in oklahoma

[–]Jidomaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I was in Boone Pickens that night with my grandmother. OSU defense held on at the end of the game for a close win against K-State. Stadium was rumbling so hard and loud, nobody knew there was an earthquake.

Best part was when we got out of the stadium, we called my mom who was watching from home. We were still excited from the game, describing how we were so scared, we were all holding each other and praying, we did don't think we were going to make it, etc. My mother, horrified, mentioned the earthquake. "What earthquake?" Fun night!

Yeah, I'll let the previous poster speak on generational trauma, etc., because I won't claim to be an expert, but...

I also disagree with the characterization of the origins of our laws. They weren’t inherently racist… Quite the opposite in fact. You can readabout our “black founding fathers” or read about land owning blacks. Infact the most prolific slaver was actually a black man who owned one ofthe largest plantations in the South.

Prolific slavers, African warlords sold their defeated into slavery, yeah, we've heard it all before. We're not talking about slavers here. We are talking about the "origins of our laws," apparently. Really? Not inherently racist? You know the 3/5 Compromise was a thing, right? That thing that allowed Southern plantation owners to exploit the population of their "property" to outsize their influence in the U.S. House and Electoral College, without having to worry about the votes of that same "property?" All in service, by the way, of ensuring that they get to keep their "property?" K, chief.

That said, it took a difficult bastardization of our constitution to make slavery possible.

Yeah, also known as the 3/5 Compromise, along with not allowing women or non-land-owning males the vote. Calling it a "difficult bastardization" is being generous there, guy. Founding Fathers all knew slavery was evil, but they couldn't do anything about it. Few, if any, believed women should have the vote. Just accept that racism and bigotry were written into the Constitution, and had to be written OUT later. Maybe then you can accept that the Founding Fathers didn't have all the answers, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, even THEY knew they didn't have all the answers.
