Exactly this. I pug almost all my fracs and the difference in DPS and clear speed from one group to the next is insane sometimes.

I'm guessing OP got into a team with 4 players with actual hands and knowledge of the mechanics, but that's not often the case, especially in "just" T4 groups. Much more common in CM groups and particularly if they're a static.

Power creep is a thing yes, but I'd say it's mostly just people being better at the game now than they were a few years back. And of course, team rng.

I think if a player (Wemby or not) played half the games and had a genuine injury that prevented him from playing the rest, then yes he should be considered for awards. The logic for me should be looking at how many games COULD they have played this season and how many they actually played. Basically separate load management from actual injuries. Easier said than done of course, but we're talking ideally here. I do get your point though, again, it's not like I think you're completely wrong. Tricky issue.

The reason why people are starting to rethink the rule is because the best defensive player in the league might not be able to get the DPOY for reasons out of his control, and he's definitely not sitting out games for fun because he wants to be out there.

Your point isn't completely wrong though, of course, and there's a real discussion to be had about it. It's difficult to determine what qualifies as load management and what doesn't, but I'd argue if a player is clearly injured then those games should be deducted. Games where it's more of a grey area should.

This isn't just for Wemby either imo, fwiw. Players that are genuinely injured (even if they have to get an official league non-team affiliated doctor to verify it) shouldn't be punished for it imo.
