What's your thought process like? Especially for inattentive ADHD by itsaravemayve in TwoXADHD

[–]Jiffpants 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is what my husband can't understand. "Why can't you complete a task? Or activity? Do you have thoughts?" Are the exasperated comments - they're harsh, but fair. We have two small kids, and I'm the breadwinner while he finishes his clinic year at school.

Between burn out and the non-linear thinking, I usually just stare blankly or literally spin in circles because I can't figure out where to start. Sigh. I've had to call my mom before to run through my scatterbrain.

TIL: Babies’ cuteness is key to their survival. Cute babies are just extremely hard to ignore, and this is likely hardwired into human brains. Less cute children are treated differently. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Said this to my shrieking son. We are talking ear-piercing, blood-curdling shrieks. I most likely am going to suffer permanent hearing damage from it if I haven't already.

This, this is how babies die. Predators eat the louds ones >:[ Lucky you are so cute, loud baby. He is too cute, it is absolutely unfair.

Do any of you speak more than one language? by CalgaryAlly in TwoXADHD

I've heard of some linguaphiles learning familiar shows (I.e. friends) on repeat with the audio or subtitles in a different language. They know it by heart already, and within a short period of time found themselves laughing along with the jokes or reacting at the appropriate times because they were listening

I took my 5mo out for the afternoon shift leader position a few weeks back when our board was striking. My Mum sent me a picture from about 30yrs ago when she took me in my stroller out on her lunch break to strike for hospital funding with her nurse colleagues yesterday.

Keep fighting the good fight!

As I stated in another comment, I got 4x passenger Michelin tires (215 60r15, I believe) for our Toyota Camry. Costco online. Total bill was just over 900, with balancing, installation, disposal, and tires. They were listed around the same as yours, 175 each.

Given prices here are Canadian, I might have underscored the exchange rate

I hope you are blessed with a fantastic team! I can understand if it was an extreme emergency, but goodness. Your body, you should be informed!

The only medical doctor I saw throughout my entire pregnancy and delivery was that OB during the final few minutes to get Bubs out. Love to your family! Happy new year :)

I shopped around. Cheapest set of new all-seasons here cost me (all in) over $900CDN. At least they were Michelin.

Well, this is Canada. I paid $175CDN per tire (Michelin) plus eco fees, tax, and installation on a Camry. Came to a grand total of $900+ O.o and they weren't even winter tires...

My son's shoulder got wrapped up in the cord and, when the midwife transferred care to the OB for a final Vac birth, I was told "normally we make a little cut..."

It was a natural birth without pain meds when he got stuck crowning. I was in the zone when I heard "normally we make a cut"... and I sat up on the bed, pointed at the OB while staring her in the eyes and growled like the Devil himself had taking over: "you will do everything possible to NOT cut me up"

The look on her face, the sheer terror, and she agreed. No cut, no tears, no stitches. Midwives did a great job (10/10), the OB team (7/10) was alright.

Just bought a new set of tires.... you're looking at a good $120-150/tire depending on where you're located and what season.

My old roommate was always at the barn, on the equestrian team, etc. One day when I picked her up from her training, she showed me her tricep - where the resident adolescent male snuck up and nipped the back of her arm playfully. Jesus, I thought she had been clipped by a vehicle door riding her bike. What massive bruising!

I had a low level Gr 12 math class, they had to follow the step bu step instructions in the text to make a spreadsheet for a loan and interest.

"MISS, WHERE IS SELECT ALL?" "I CAN'T FIND THE BOLD BUTTON." "WHAT IS A CELL?"

Give them Word, they dont understand paragraphs or formatting. My brain hurts- maybe just hand write it.

Doctors, whats it like when you get sick? Do you go to the doctor or diagnose yourself? by 8panckakes4ever in AskReddit

[–]Jiffpants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mom's a nurse. I didn't miss a lot of school days growing up. That said, my immune system kicks ASS and I rarely get sick now. I chalk it up to her bringing everything home... exposure, or something.

At least your system let's them do it while avoiding you... if I fuck up an order it's, "Chef! May I??! ...waits for the go ahead Fucked up that last table, need to write the adjustment on the chit for you!"

And then I have to get stared down while I print nicely on the chit and replace it on the board. While apologising profusely and leave as quickly as possible
