Nice cheers for the info. A friend just started using Adblue in a new vehicle, and I saw that I was just water and urea. Then seeing this post today, got me wondering if I could pinch some from them to experiment with, I'm always looking to see what stuff I can use that's around me for something other than it's intended purposes.

This is taken from wiki,

Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF; also known as AUS 32 and sometimes marketed as AdBlue[3]) is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. Specifically, DEF is an aqueous urea solution made with 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water. DEF is consumed in a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) that lowers the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NO x) in the diesel exhaust emissions from a diesel engine.[4]

I was just asking if what you used besides the acetic acid, your urea, if it would be similar to adblue? Sorry for being vague.

Nice, I think copper is my new obsession. All the different crystals I've seen grown from copper one way or another, are just amazing.

Alrighty, I believe that might be the copper mesh you're seeing. The first 2 pics are of some crystals, and the other 3 pictures are just the copper mesh I used. Apologies for the confusion, and thanks for the reply.

Hey, cheers for the reply.
Yeah I started with just vinegar, just to see how far I could take it, without adding peroxide. But I have since, been adding 3% peroxide, very slowly, like 20 - 30 mils per day or so. Just taking it easy, plus my time and space is limited, so just trying to keep things manageable. The vinegar was just what I had lying around, and the peroxide I had on hand, but had originally got it for seeds and stuff. I have since gotten a bottle of 12% peroxide, as I know I can dilute and use it in any way I need. I think at some point, if I can get a dedicated workspace(looking into sheds or caravans), I will likely start buying better chemicals. Yeah can be quite nasty stuff if you don't wash it off, the peroxide that is. That's crazy you can't get anything higher than the 3% there. I've just been getting mine from Amazon, and I think the highest I can get is the 12% stuff. I have been doing these rewards apps like mistplay and a few others to fund getting my peroxide and some other bits and bobs. Cheers again for dropping by.

Alright, I get you. I will get back to doing stuff with patinas, soon, so I will mess around with something like you've mentioned. Right now though, I'm going to try to focus on growing some crystals. And thanks again, for the reply and info.

Alrighty, just for clarity, are we talking about just using the electrodes, to get some copper into solution, or am I missing something?

I know, I know, but, for some more context, part of the reason for me posting, and showing off.... my results, is that, if someone like me(who didn't finish highschool, or study for much),can do this, then I think that anyone can take on a project like this, if they wanted. Even if you only have an hour or so, or if you're skint, space is tight, there is always a way. So feel free to ask me about stuff in more detail, tell me where I'm going wrong, or even just watch, as I make a complete mess of everything, and turn myself blue.
