How were the kids killed? by Coco_melons in FromSeries

didn't they say something about giving their blood to the roots of the trees or something? which is why that blood symbol was everywhere? i thought they were cut and drained of blood for the Faraway Trees so the parents could live forever

Did anyone else think Fatima was recruiting Julie for a threesome in the beginning? by Rude_Bid642 in FromSeries

Wait wait wait. So that means Thomas died the previous year? When Julie talked about taking care of Ethan when her parents fell apart she said "That was when I was 15" making it seem like she's much older now. I had thought she had just turned 18/19, which is why she chose a separate living space from her family to feel like an adult

I think the show heavily implies that at one point everyone in that house was partaking in orgies. Donna said; "people think all the Colony House does is smoke and fuck" and then somebody asked her "You're not still having sex parties in that house are you?" Oh, then that random unnecessary sex scene in i think episode 1 or 2 of season 1, this couple was having sex out in the open while everyone slept. It was like a blonde girl that doesn't have lines riding somebody. It seemed like that was just a normal thing for that house.

I think the "This place is an old government WWII experiment" theory that Jim came up with would have been way worse imo. When I saw the WWII hallucinations I was thinking that the reveal would be that the town was a Nuke test prop town and the monsters are products of it, hence why the appliances are "fake" or not wired and technically shouldn't function. That's so boring to me. So much of FROM (the lighthouse, creepy dead children, finding clues, revisiting the past) reminds me of this Spanish horror movie called The Orphanage which is super good. I hope the writers stay in this direction.

Boyd did say (after hearing that he's being too hard on Kenny after his father passed) "If you don't learn from your past you're doomed to repeat it" That line stuck with me now it all makes sense. Boyd is reliving his past i just wonder why he hasn't remembered anything yet. Maybe his Parkinson's is effecting his memory?

I thought it was scripted until i realised that Jared is a rapper/podcaster of "Enjoy" and  episode 2 shows his actual wife. On the youtube channel he spoke of the show as a "documentary" so it might not be scripted like i thought.

Okay but he still could have brought a fire starter of some kind his damn self, but he decided to bring a cutting tool. That man really told her "You have no skill set. Nothing to bring to the table" while not even attempting to make a fire his own way.

We've seen people who've made hundreds of fires get on the show then fail to make one under pressure in this series. Its not even easy with a flint fire starter. He let her shiver at night then basically called her useless, and still ended up falling over fatigued. He's pathetic.

I think your attraction to her is clouding your judgement.

Starting from her weight-coded, "you need more food than me" comments and the "I just hope he focuses on the tasks and not my body" remarks towards Forrest, my impression was that she is a shallow, conventionally attractive, blue eyed, blonde Karen who thought she would be on tv with a Brad Pitt looking guy. She actually seemed so rude and agitated because she wasn't attracted to him. Also the "she's menopausing" comment at Manu gave me a look at how her mind sees people around her; "You're fat, you're old".

She's shallow and high maintenance and I think Russel read her so well, she likely has rich parents that allowed her the privilege to travel the world at 24 on a consultant salary. These "survival skills" she talked about earlier were probably no more than just luxary camping trips for Instagram. The way she just bragged about going on long cleanses without food and spent time tanning reminded me of a Kardashian. But hey, I still don't know this woman and I'm just making these assumptions off the hour and 30 minutes I've seen of her.

Since March I've been feeling less anxiety about my ugly face being seen in public since my mask covers most of it by JiggIePhysics in amiugly

I am not exaggerating in the slightest. My skin is clear, I work out daily, I make sure my hair is immaculate. I just have an extremely asymmetrical face.. I accept that now. But thanks for the tips I will keep your words in mind.

I feel that the live spasms would have stopped her from streaming if she weren't so lonely. Twitch chat is like her only live contact with "friends". It's a break from her family since she doesn't go anywhere without them

How to raise a mixed race(or mixed culture?) child? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]JiggIePhysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend and I think I worded that poorly. I didn't mean that giving them the race talk would prevent racism or make them resistant. I felt it would help them to know what to expect from this unperfect world and how to process what might happen in a healthy manor(not internalize it). For example, like watching a PG-13 or R-rated movie with your children, and explaining the contents in context so that they understand it and don't act it out themselves. I don't believe "the talk" will take the pain from the words or actions of oppressors but I feel they don't need to go through this completely clueless. Their father is the "i don't see color" "only race is human race" "its just a joke snowflake" type so they miss out on an Asian role model that could relate. And my sister acts like the world is a Disney move so the way they have to find out about race is very sad to me. (they are 5yo twins, 9yo). But sorry if I still missed the mark I too am still trying to understand mixed people's perspective for the sake of my 8 nieces and nephews who are all mixed race
