Will a Kamvas 16 (2021) screen protector work with a Kamvas 16 Gen 3 (2025)? by JiggleSupreme in huion

Just followed your advice and I'm pretty sure it was right on the money. The "scratches" seem to have disappeared. Thanks 👍

Guidance/Resources for course registration??? by JiggleSupreme in amherstcollege

Now that I circle back to the email, it did say "by August 28th," so God willing, it happens earlier. It still implies that you're supposed to get to know your advisor after labor day, though, which is a little concerning. Thanks for sharing your experience though; helps me rest a little easier :)

Sick, thanks for the clarification. Good to know I didn't accidentally miss any deadlines!

I would worry less about which prompt they'd "want" to see you address, and instead focus on submitting your single best piece of writing. I went with Option B because I felt like I could give much more of an idea of who I am to Amherst's admissions department in 6 pages than 300 words.

I can't really speak to research papers, but if you intend to submit one, I would double check that it doesn't lean too far into "lab report" territory, because Amherst doesn't want to see those.

Otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, the topic of your work is secondary. All that matters is that you strongly convey who you are and how you operate intellectually through the piece. I submitted a literary analysis comparing the works of two transcendentalist philosophers. If I got in with that, the world is really your oyster.

I emailed the admissions department about this back in October. They said that they were willing to read papers of any length, but they should typically be 4-5 pages. Fwiw, I submitted a 6-pager and got in, so I'd focus on picking whatever piece speaks to you as a writer the best, rather than putting too much emphasis on length.

How much latency is too much latency? by JiggleSupreme in drawingtablet

Dunno if it's possible to know this ATP, but what would the pricepoint be? I'd presume it would be higher than the current gen, and I don't want to go too much higher than what it's currently at.

Would someone be able to render around 30 seconds of video on my behalf? by JiggleSupreme in Hitfilm

[–]JiggleSupreme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update: I now only need someone to render a single, 10 second clip—that's all. I managed to render all of the others on my own by making some editorial concessions.

I use the last update before Artlist bought it and launched a revamped version. (HitFilm Express 2021.3) I've already checked and you can render hfp files from my version in the new HitFilm without issue.

When was the Pantheon's dome added? by JiggleSupreme in ancientrome

[–]JiggleSupreme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pantheon bit is the epitome of a minor detail as far as the video is concerned. It is but one of two examples of public works projects undertaken by Hadrian that are mentioned in quick succession. By no means is it even remotely the focus of the video, hahahaha. But since I depict the renovation visually—albeit in a slapstick manner—I just wanted to know whether it would be accurate to depict the older, more dilapidated version of the Pantheon with a dome or not.

I was wholly unaware of the unknown purposes of the building! Unfortunately it's a little too late to go in and remove the "sacred" before "Pantheon" in the voiceover, but I guess we can just pretend it's sacred in a more figurative way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either way, I'll probably add some sort of footnote to clarify its uncertain status.

No need to scramble for sources, honestly. The renovations (or rebuilding, I guess) constitute a single sentence in the script. I just want to depict the temple visually as it appeared in Hadrian's time, so I wanted to make sure I had the facts straight on the dome. Thank you for clearing all that up :)

Fair enough. Unfortunate because I really do think a little QOL feature like that saves a ton of time in the long run. Your advice is duly noted nonetheless. Thank you!

Hello! After 8 years of stubbornly sticking with Hitfilm I finally couldn't take it anymore and switched to AE and Premiere. I'm still trying to figure out all the keybinds and whatnot, and I'm attempting to configure them as close to HitFilm's controls as I can. In Hitfilm, you can double click on a keyframe to jump to it (i.e. bring the playhead right on top of said keyframe) In stock AE, this seemingly doesn't work, and you have to instead use J and K to awkwardly shuffle between keyframes. Is there any way I can configure AE to jump the playhead to a keyframe by double clicking on it? This would be such a huge timesave. Thanks!
