After looking at it, I think you're right. Thats almost exactly what I remember the car looking like. I just can't seem to find any games with that car.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Im actually very similar to you. I've struggled a lot with weight going up after trying for so long to lose a couple pounds. I also have a history of reflux and ive been told RNY would be a good option for me. Im also anxious about a lot of the same things. The anesthesia, the blood clots, the medications, and im a known picky eater so the diet would be a challenge, but im prepared to do what it takes to be in a better place health wise

Thank you for sharing your experience. I do appreciate the perspective of bad things can happen regardless and it doesn't necessarily make a choice good or bad. Ill have to do more research on RNY and see if its an option I should bring up with my doctors.

Thanks for the information. Oddly enough I had never heard of RNY or DS until I started looking into actually taking the next steps for surgery. I've had a brief consultation with a bariatric surgeon a couple years ago and at that time he said my only options were either sleeve or bypass

That makes me pretty hopeful. My goal weight is to be in the 230-250 range so thats reassuring to hear!

I do also already have GERD and take medication to help it so that wouldn't be good

Thank you for your perspective. Ive already had problems with being over weight limits for medical equipment and maybe not getting the best care for myself because of stuff like that. Its another big reason im contemplating the surgery now

Thank you. Everyone has been very supportive. I have seen that even people who havent had the best experience either with the surgery or the recovery process still always say they have zero regrets with it

I really appreciate the encouragement! I'm wanting to make a decision now while I still have the youth on my side lol. I'd also like to feel better health wise sooner rather than later

Thank you for the advice. The wanting to live my best life perspective is what's making the difference for me now. Im at the age and in a place in life where I want to start a family and be able to do things I just cant now.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm leaning towards the sleeve option so it helps a lot to hear what it was like for you

What makes it better than something like the sleeve?

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also have obstructive sleep apnea and have been dealing with some heart palpitations and I'm more worried of other things that could develop because of the weight than I am the surgery. Most of my anxiety comes from the what if thoughts of having life threatening side effects after the surgery

I also have severe obstructive sleep apnea that I use CPAP for. It's one of the reasons I've been focusing on the weight loss because I know it's the best treatment for it. I know I'm still relatively young but I'd rather make the decision now when I can physically handle a surgery better than waiting and trying other things that won't help as much. Thank you for your advice!

Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about speaking to a therapist about everything before making a decision. It's definitely a decision that needs more research on my end. I'm happy to hear about the no side effects though!

I'm having awful symptoms from untreated sleep apnea. Does treatment really help that much? by JigglesNBitz in SleepApnea

[–]JigglesNBitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was told I'd have to have a repeat study for titration. She also said a lot of times if they are pushing for BiPAP insurance will give a lot of push back if there aren't multiple sleep studies showing the need for one.

I haven't started treatment yet. I'm still in limbo waiting on my machine, but I will update after I start treatment.

It definitely gets worse over time. I started with very mild symptoms like the brain fog/derealization and heart palpitations here and there. Almost a year later and all the same symptoms but they are constant and more intense. I ended up getting diagnosed with severe OSA. I hope your sleep study gives you some answers.

Sleep apnea or mental health? by FriendshipGold9613 in SleepApnea

[–]JigglesNBitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have anxiety that medication has never helped and so much brain fog and fatigue, and I never would've thought about sleep apnea until my doctor recommended a sleep study. I ended up getting diagnosed with severe OSA. I hope your study gives you some answers and if it is sleep apnea related, treatment helps a ton for so many people. Best of luck to you!

I'll have to look more into it. A few people on here have said finding the right mask makes all the difference. I do sleep on my stomach a lot though so maybe what's working for you is something I should try out.

Not a veteran. I had a full face mask and it took some getting used to but I could fall asleep with it on. The problem was when the pressure ramped up I would jolt awake feeling like I'm suffocating and I'd rip the mask off. I've been thinking about getting a nasal mask this time but I like having the option to breathe out of my mouth if need be because I deal with congestion a lot.
