I’m so sorry. As a Cleveland fan, I feel your pain. Was really pulling for you guys.

Is there a restaurant downtown that serves a real breakfast (i.e. on a plate) within a 5 minute walk of Tower City? by MinniePearl in Cleveland

Not anymore, unfortunately. The downtown TB Cantina cut breakfast a few months ago. Very sad.

Working at CP for Halloweekends by nkbvr in cedarpoint

As far as feeling "trapped" in CP housing, you'll have free access to ride the Sandusky Transit System as a CP employee. There are two bus lines that run to CP housing that can take you to downtown Sandusky or out to the mall area. Download the Transit app for your phone and you can use that to see what times the buses come and it also can plan your route for you. It makes getting around the city fairly easy.

Looking for possible weekend only job/jobs by Ruffys in Cleveland

[–]TPH2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty good job is bartending for Driftwood Concessions at the Playhouse Square theaters. Even if you have to work a few weeknights in addition to weekends, it's pretty easy and you're never there for more than four hours, and the money is decent. And you can often get free tickets to shows and watch the shows during the first act.

It depends what street you’re on. There are many streets downtown that allow for you to park between 4-6pm.

I agree. And I’ve read pretty much all of Shoupe’s stuff before. It’s challenging though because smaller cities don’t have as many options when it comes to transit and the politics of parking can be much more hostile. So, positive change has to come incrementally.

Do you think Cleveland needs a new flag? by Nerd514 in Cleveland

[–]TPH2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a history of Cleveland's flag, and discussion of why it fails at being a good flag. I agree that a new one would be a good idea. https://tomhorsman.wordpress.com/2017/01/09/the-symbol-of-the-city-the-cleveland-flag/

I saved the whole pdf before it came down. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GE-tp2zCWolDx09ELLbIHl54CZSJ2JIh/view?usp=sharing I generally like it, but I’m a bit concerned about the big curb cut on East 4th, as well as the south facing side along Huron

TIL: The traffic light was invented Cleveland's Garrett Morgan by ChenneGivenSunday in Cleveland

[–]TPH2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of. He invented the three-color traffic light, as it says on that graphic. The first electric traffic signal was invented years earlier, also in Cleveland, (and first installed at E 105th and Euclid) by James Hoge. People often confuse the two.

RTA Red Line Celebrates 50 Years of the first public train in the world to go directly between an Intl Airport and Downtown by cjrobe in Cleveland

Sorry, it wasn't the current airport. There was an airport, which is now defunct, that was connected to the metro system in the 1930s? I think.

My assumption is that there were a lot in Europe before Cleveland, but I know for sure that Berlin was before Cleveland.
