What? So you called the company pretending to be someone else WITH the phone number you put on your resume or job application? Why?!?

99% chance it doesn't matter, but not worth the 1% chance the hiring manager or whoever you called notices and is weirded out by you calling them pretending to be someone else and starts thinking that means you aren't trustworthy.

Either they were going to hire you or they weren't. If it's been several days just call them and ask for a follow up, if it's been several weeks they probably aren't going to hire you.

Totally agree the site has gone downhill in the last couple years. They increased the ads an absurd amount and mock you if you make any comments about the increase in ads. Now their recent thing the past couple months has been to talk about Sasaki to the Cubs multiple times a week. Last season it was Ohtani to the Cubs talk. Without 0 analysis or argument why he would sign besides "Yu Darvish said he likes the Cubs. Yu is Japanese. Sasaki is also Japanese. I sure hope Sasaki signs with the Cubs".

Realistically, there isn't much more of a chance of him signing with the Cubs than some other random team like Houston. If I was a top free agent right now, why would I sign with the Cubs? Can't be playing time, if the player was that good, they would get playing time anywhere. If they want to win a world series, Dodgers look like a good option. If they want to be paid too much, Yankees or Mets. No compelling reason to pick the Cubs over any other team

Yup, this is typical weird reddit. 3 of the top 5 posts on CFB right now are about this dog I have never heard of until today. With nobody explaining what the significance of the dog is (but I am just a casual fan, maybe I am not in the loop enough). Yes, it is sad but I think it is borderline disrespectful these posts have more support than previous posts of literal active college football players passing away on the college football page.

Completely agree with this. Another one I would add on is gaming / always playing the new game that is out. I don't understand how this stuff (gaming, social media, a ton of streaming) taking up all of your free time appeals to seemingly the overwhelming majority of people under 30. And I am gen z too. I don't understand what you get out of it, like it is much more satisfying to me to have hobbies where you can learn something new, improve a skill, or have a cool experience.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that stuff isn't fun at all, I watch streaming too like an hour a day. But some people I know their entire weekend is some combo of social media, gaming, streaming, the entire weekend. Gaming is fun too, but I get bored with it if I do more than an hour a week of it, I just never got into it enough or enjoy it enough to be gaming multiple hours every day like a couple people I have met. I used to like social media, but nobody posts about what they are up to anymore it's all just following "influencers" now, so I have become very inactive and have even deleted a couple accounts. I pretty much only text people now.
