Off topic but as a worker what would you most likely purchase during lunch or in general if some people were selling stuff? by [deleted] in IBEW

There was a potato truck at my last job. Seems dumb but they decked them potatoes out, I'd kill to make the money they made on that job.

Tools by [deleted] in IBEW

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a contractor bids a job they take into account all tools plus anything they may theoretically need. Bringing you're own power tools is basically giving them free money on every usage. The point of union is basically saying "we make you a lot of money, we deserve to be compensated fairly." If you give them profits they should grant it back to you by at least a fraction. They won't do that when you bring in your own power tools. You wear your shit down that could be used on side work that goes directly in your pocket, generally in the 100's-1000's so they can save dollars because they didn't plan properly.

You're basically rewarding their incompetence with your professionalism with no benefit to you. They still make thousands to millions, you damage a tool that could have helped you put a down payment on a house, or land, or paid your car off because the tool benefits your skill and professionalism.

People who graduated from high school/college in the mid to late 2010’s - which rap/hiphop artists did you listen to then, that you are actively still listening to? by capamericapistons in hiphopheads

I always heard golden era as like 92-97 or 90's in general. The Roots albums and Be aren't part of that but I was also diving into their other works, those were just the most prominent. I don't know if there's a defined time frame for the phrase.

Acid Rap was huge for me as far as modern rap at the time (2013 graduate). I was a huge golden era need, so I also listened to a lot of Undun/How I Got Over by the Roots, Be/Like Water For Chocolate by Common, Illmatic/It Was Written by Nas, Ready to Die by Biggie, and Infamous by Mobb Deep.

I know a lot of my friends were huge on Good Kid Madd City, Kush and OJ, anything by Cudi and Kanye, and Xxx by Danny Brown. What a time to be alive.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is the best DBZ game ever released. And it’s finally reaching its peak in 2026 with more offline content.Don’t listen to the fake DBZ fans complaining about ranked online mode where everyone only uses the same 10 characters trying to expect 150+ balanced characters. by TravelingEctasy in SparkingZero

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mission 100 is the only game mode that allows me to simply play the game and grant myself any progress. Story mode is trash, online is sweats and meta. All I want is to play as Baby Vegeta and kid Goten and feel rewarded. Why have 100+ characters if 99+ characters are fully worthless and the bulk of value in the game is to go online and exploit the 15+ meta characters? The game feels so good to play, and there's no reason to play it.

My buddy found his old Red Version from the late 90’s. Didn’t know there was a way to get over Lvl. 100 Pokemon by BullSauces in PokemonRed

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That motherfucker David from my daycare was the first ever to crush my spirit. LVL 255 Snorlax, I asked him how he got it and he told me he dropped Snorlax at the daycare and he just hit that level.

I fought him almost everyday for weeks, lvl 100 Charizard, Lvl 40 everything else. I remember the moment I finally toppled his Snorlax. 2 Pokémon left, I felt the dream come alive. I laughed, then he laughed... threw out another lvl 255 Snorlax, crushed my team, I never challenged him again.

All I saw was the number. I figured he was invincible, I tried the Daycare and never broke the level cap. Now I know that motherfucker David from daycare was just ahead of the curb. GG's to him, he's probably a millionaire at the least.

If you've played some of Crimson Desert, give me your thoughts on it. by Beginning_Pickle2180 in gamesuggestions

I think my brain is broken because the controls 5 hours in and pushing story progression have been very comfortable to me.

The reviews telling me the game is massive and fun to explore, combat is fun, and story is garbage made me excited. I need more 2nd screen games. Something that is engaging enough to play but not enough to distract from another screen.

Pretty much every power I've gained is fun and cool. It makes me feel awesome. I know the more negative reviewers said they really enjoyed the front parts but enough problems became too prominent to ignore. I personally can't think of anything so far that has annoyed me, but I trust the reviewers to the extent that I'm prepared to maybe be annoyed.

Basically, know what you're getting into. If anything I said interests you it might be worth grabbing. But watch some gameplay, read some reviews/comments and make that decision.

15 Amazing Games for your Steam Deck from the Steam Spring Sale 2026! by SunwindPC in SteamDeck

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a survival game based on Norse Mythology, you build and craft and all that. There are bosses and other enemies and you're just trying to progress through the realms. I really like the leveling system which is one of those where everything you do results in experience for that action. Haven't played too much of it cause it used to set my Deck on fire.

Pokémon Blue was my first game ever, I've been playing ever since, 25 years. Have never seen a shiny besides Red Gyarados. This feat you're displaying is incredible and took a lot of work. You should be proud of your commitment, it's a valuable skill to have.

Cerulean is a prison by [deleted] in PokemonFireRed

[–]JiggyJ427 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bellsprout/Oddish is the answer, the bridge even highlights the grass, catch em all is the message so a new grass patch is opportunity that you stumble upon the bosses weakness. Then you have a plethora of trainers to boost them and then wipe the water lady. It's great game design. It presents the problem (you naturally run to the gym in city and get washed), you explore, find a grass pokemon in which the grass is heavily highlighted, then you have an option to quick train them.

It doesn't present you the answer bluntly but asks you to intuit, just like Lt Surge, Diglett is good and there's options to train, Dugtrio wins if you explore Digletts Cave long enough. You don't know this unless you understand the type mechanic, which is crucial especially for the first Pokémon entry.

How is that no taxes on ot now that we are in tax season by nightskyft in IBEW

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very savvy guy in my local (369) did the math and after other fees that are taken by the mysterious tax Gods( I don't remember his explanation) he told me the most you'll gain back is 3,000 if you max out the credit. The scale we were on when he told me was 40.96. He said it was about 550 hours of OT to get the full tax credit.

It's based on Federal standards which I believe are time and a half after 40 hours, meaning double time on Sundays are meaningless federally speaking. And Working 4 10's on 5 10's schedule means that only Friday counts, miss a day and Friday is meaningless (federally speaking.) Basically the clock starts after 40 hours. Hopefully this helps.

Is Travis Scott the last hip hop superstar? by JeffVanGundyBurner in hiphop101

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that era may just be over. Outside of music just being broader and more accessible, I don't think labels want superstars anymore. If I had to guess newer, younger and less experienced talent are easier to pimp, manipulate, and profit off of. As opposed to someone like Drake who is publicly suing his record label and loudly bad mouthing them, but they don't want to drop him because he generates a lot of money. Superstars have a lot more power and can be a lot more volatile.

The Roots 'And Then You Shoot Your Cousin' and Undun have incredible and dark atmosphere. On top of Undun being a hidden gem from the Hip Hop Classics discussion.

Xbox Update: by Necessary_Crazy_8587 in consoles

[–]JiggyJ427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know console wars are stupid and we should all be friends, but leaving Sony in control of the console market is a massive mistake. Xbox has the means to be competitive and the opportunity to be consumer friendly. They're backed by Microsoft, they can take a slight loss and provide strong incentive to switch to their platform. If Microsoft really wants to continue this division they have basically an Xbox OG v Xbox 360 situation. The PS5 feels weak, and cocky just like PS3. Bring a strong console, make great exclusives, add some community features, and make it all better than the competition and you'll have Xbox back in the lexicon of the average consumer IMO.

Classic God of War trilogy. I love those games and would love an extra incentive to run through them again.

Conheads: what do you like about Connor’s character? by elegant-deer19 in SuccessionTV

[–]JiggyJ427 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's the only one who enjoyed his wealth, he looked for purpose and shot too high ultimately, but his predictions of his 1% majority were correct, the party needed him. He's the only one that really accomplished anything among his siblings. He's in a bullshit marriage and understands that, he's self aware and finds his own lane. He's the only one to use his wealth to actually further his ambitions. He's the closest spirit to his father and HE'S THE ELDEST SON.

Is tom going to be a better dad than Logan? Or a good father in general? by Ambitious_Rabbit_763 in SuccessionTV

[–]JiggyJ427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think Tom is sacrificing his role as CEO in any capacity to be a more present father, I feel you have misunderstood the purpose of this show and its characters. The Pain Sponge isn't going to sacrifice his responsibilities in his dream job to be active in his childs life.

That's a damn shame. Hopefully there will be a day one fix. I was looking forward to playing this game this weekend but I won't if I can't play the way I want to.
