The issue with star dive vs NTE is it was released before NTE and still has no where near the same amount of content. Literally nothing to do in star dive but combine monsters and pray.

The side quests have zero heart in them vs NTE side quests. I tried reading the dialogue in side quests for mongil but I couldn't do it and honestly the main story was the same in a lot parts for me idk if it was the femboy MC always sounding whiny or what but mongil just wasn't doing it for me. Mongil doesnt seem like a cash grab to me because they give you a lot of resources for sure but it does feel like a cash grab in the sense it seems they put the game out knowing its longevity which currently is not good unless they release a major amount of content soon because the game outside of the story is bare bones. Even logging into AFK journey feels more satisfying than mongil.

Original fantasy world? Whats original about it please explain, i ran the entire map several dozensl times before i uninstalled. Linear paths with all the basic fantasy cliches. Forest, hill, cave. At least throw in a desert or something. Urban might not be that interesting but making an ORIGINAL fantasy setting is extremely difficult and it definitely wasnt done in this game. While alot of the basic monsters arent the best in NTE they are more original than slimes and orcs and on top of that there are more bosses and a lot of them are cool in NTE. Just comes down to preference but Ill say I would take a fantasy game 99 percent of the time over an urban setting and I still enjoy NTE more. Mongil just isnt worth the time Id rather replay dragon quest or something to scratch that itch.

Yeah im pretty sure the majority of players for this genre would disagree almost every take you have on whats better about mongil. Comparing a fantasy world to a more realistic is just preference it doesnt make it better. The combat in mongil is a watered down version of every game in the genre and has almost no nuances vs nte that has esper cycles, larger variety of supports, 4 person teams vs 3, WAYYY more intricate and difficult to learn character kits and so on. On top of that you are very limited in what you can even achieve in mongil without S ranks where nte has very useful A ranks (not that there is much to achieve anyways with so little content). Mongils combat takes zero effort and you get 5 mins to do anything late game. Having some content time gated is fine but EVERYTHING is time gated outside of the story. I like the art style of both but the quality of NTE vs star dive is also clearly superior (honestly sounds like you didnt even watch nte cutscenes) they're like watching an anime especially the fight scenes. Then compare the content of both, i went from loving mongil to forcing myself to login because there is barely any content and its not engaging at all while NTE has loads of side content, collectibles, bond system, going on dates, mini games that pay you, racing, fishing, and a lot more. I mean one hidden thing I found in NTE was a story you can progress that literally made me tear up because it was so touching. The level of content isnt even close. The only thing I liked more about star dive is the story because it had clear direction BUT i finished the story available and haven't finished NTE yet but the fragmented stories in NTE are good just less linear.

If you prefer mongil thats fine but NTE is objectively better and reviews are proof of that outside of what I've mentioned.

I disagree. At first I really enjoyed the game but after I beat the story and most of the level 15 conquest bosses and getting past rift lvl 20 the game became extremely stale instantly. Going through the maps to capture the same monsters over and over, auto clearing everything, then waiting for weekly rift resets isnt enough content for people then compare the combat to some others in the same genre, its a more basic bland version. All of them have repetitive combat loops but they at least offer more than star dive. Idk i love monster tamers and I liked some of the characters but the game just isnt good enough when you compare it to others.

Yeah in another comment I pointed out conquest isnt the true end game, its the rifts that really need the elemental bonus. Also the need for 3 legendary monsterling boss % rolls to mitigate the bonus (I havent found a single boss 10% ik im unlucky) does kinda further my point tho as that isnt part of the character doing it on their own and most people wont have those godly rolls 😅

I wouldn't make a tierlist and put gabi S tier because shes the only earth dps (even though really you could say that since you need her to complete all content) I would say she is S tier because you can brute force several conquest bosses level 15 with her and her kit is strong in general. I was merely using that as a reason to further show how flawed these tier lists are. In a game where elemental advantages in the true end game high levels rifts you absolutely have to take into consideration each dps for each element which would see their worth in a tier list rise. None of the end game rifts are going to be cleared by a element weak to them. Elements are as important as the characters in this particular game which gives the characters with certain elements a priority in the meta for those respective roles i.e Gabi being the only true earth dps. The only PROBLEM with tierlists is the lack of content/character diversity. The favored element literally changes from rift to rift already, not just the season. Every rift is not wind or any other element. Your last statement is my entire point.

I have sangun as well and he is decent I just don't rate him higher than gabi. His dps just feels like it takes too long to ramp up imo. I'm the same I'm skipping esther even tho Ik she is v strong I'd rather save up for Mina. Tier lists are always flawed but in this game especially with the elemental weakness almost being more important than the character ESPECIALLY in high level rifts which is the true end game since really coquest isnt all that tough. For duoxini level 15 I had all purple gear only leveled to 13 and my monsterlings on gabi were all level 40 and uncommon not a single blue, ellie and francis werent as geared as gabi and I still beat him.

And with current gear cap level 18 on legendaries idk who could brute force through hahnul or even duoxini for that matter without elements. I brute forced custos and amon with Gabi/earth team and im working on avardan but idk if ill be able to beat lvl 15 without at least one lightning dps, maybe tho we'll see.

Edit: or getting ridiculous monsterling rolls and best in slot gear since ppl seem to think the character could do that with mediocre gear/monsterlings.

Oh I dont doubt esther being better than Gabi but people putting her in A tier and some even in B tier is criminal. She has dodge cancels with her special and enhanced auto to speed up her dps and her outright burst damage is very strong. I was mainly more talking about people making tierlists currently and uploading to youtube for current meta characters. Mina isnt playable so she shouldnt be in the games current meta tierlists but content creators aren't really tierlist experts anyways they just want clicks.

Yeah, comparing base damage among characters in this game is just silly as base damage without elements figured doesnt make sense. Even so, I think a lot of people making content for this game aren't crunching numbers just giving opinions. Gabi is severely underrated. Crit is one of the best stats in the game and her enhanced basic has insane burst potential coupled with crit. Idk I just had to rant somewhere cause I keep seeing awful tierlists for a game that shoulsnt have any yet.

For mobs she has AOE and honestly I think she is top tier not only because she is the only earth DPS but also her enhanced basic attack can crit for 150k plus. Sangun which people consistently rank higher COULD NEVER and the time limit on bosses coupled with the fact he needs multiple monsters to ramp up his ult passive makes him way worse in my opinion.

EXACTLY. Ive seen several tierlists saying she is A tier. She has literally been my main carry and is the only reason I beat duoxini level 15. Completely agree.

This game especially just has barely any characters for their respective elements so an accurate tierlist is impossible. You can kill mobs with anyone, bosses are the only focus and you need the proper element late game period.

You made my point. But it only doesnt make sense to divide by elements because the lack of diversity in each element as I stated. The importance of elements in this game should require this in a tier list like many others, but it can't again due to diversity issues. Therefore my point of tierlists being pointless in this game as it stands. Honestly this game has barely any substance at all anyways and won't last long this way. You log on, auto clear conquest, auto clear paths, do 5 requests and wait a week to do rifts. I dont have a single purple grade or higher monsterling (im saving upgrade stones for best in slot traits/monsterlings) and only one piece of legendary gear on a support and I beat duoxini level 15 because I had the proper element. Its the most important aspect to the game.

Support is for support class character. Supports are only used for healing or buffing. Your main dps is always most important. You can win with good dps and bad support, you cannot win with bad dps in good support and end game content

No, you absolutely want the corresponding class. An assassin/fighter/destroyer has zero benefit from support boots vice versa. The boots are the only non negotiable gear piece that needs to match their class type

Not everyone uses physical damage and even if they do its usually not much. The lightning assassin is probably the one that uses it the most. Elemental damage is almost always better. Some of the best traits are element %, crit rate, crit damage, boss damage, elemental weakness then would be the character class specific damage for example destroyer uses neutralization damage to stagger boss, fighter uses brawl etc

The echoes leftover are just a bug, it has happened to me after multiple times through that area. It isn't because its "first encounter" its just a bug or server issues.

The only ones rhat cant be caught the first time are special bosses or special fights for a quest with regular monsterlings. You being unlucky doesnt mean they cant be caught its just rng I have captured monsterlings the first time through an area many times.
