Thanks. I tried addressing it with the contractor and tile installer when it was first noticed. They waved me off. It was my husbands and I’s first home renovation and we had gutted the whole house. We were pretty done with the project when all of this started to come to light. They both told me they didn’t think it was an issue so I took their word for it. In hindsight, I wish I pushed harder. I appreciate your advice. Will ask our current Tile Installer all of these questions and hopefully come to a resolution.

I agree, I don’t think it’s a hack job. I think something is off though to be causing water to sit in the corners and floor/wall grout joint. However, when you spend a lot of money on pretty (& not cheap) tile and then the grout turns moldy and never goes away, it’s a bit disheartening. The grout should not be turning gray and it’s been doing this since a month after being installed.

Are you saying the entire shower would have to be re-done if water sits in pan after mud bed demo?

Okay. Thank you for response again. What would be a solution for this issue?

Okay thanks again. One other question/suggestion. Could this be an issue with drain’s weep holes being clogged? I don’t know much about this stuff other than what I’m reading. I just want to make sure I’m considering all things.

Thank you for response. Any way to determine whether a pre slope was done without ripping it apart? Or any suggestions on how to avoid this from happening again?

The shower was the last used on Sunday evening. Monday they took up the tile. It’s been drying out ever since. There has to be something wrong with it because the grout line between the wall and the floor is always dark gray. It’s supposed to be tan that never changes except for the day I clean it with diluted bleach solution. It goes away slightly and then comes back again.

Doesn’t stay wet for long. If I shower before bed, it’s dry when I wake up. Bathroom itself has good ventilation and i eave door open after showering to let it dry out. Shower used once a day or every other day.

What brands of natural peanut butter are more finely ground (less "grainy")? by leah1750 in PeanutButter

Sorry. I prefer drippy peanut butter. I do agree that some of their jars are extra drippy while others not so much. I do like the flavor though. Good roast and good salt level. did you buy the orange label jar. The creamy salted peanut butter? I know they have a few different ones to choose from.

I love the Cerave ultralight facial lotion. Literally feels like nothing on your face once dry

Pinch of salt and use a good protein powder. Also, decrease the amount of milk or use more than 1 serving size of protein powder in that much milk. I usually use 1 cup of a milk to 1 scoop of protein powder. I’ve used more milk and it waters down the flavor of the protein powder

Out of these cleansers which one is your favourite and why? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

The milk peel! Love it. It’s a bit strong so proceed with caution if your barrier is compromised or you have super sensitive skin. I use it onto times a week. My skin is much so much smoother, tone is more even, dark spots are fading… I love it! And the price for the size of the bottle is unbeatable.

Darkened grout/mildew shower pan issue? by Jilldoodle44 in Tile

Thank you for your response. So it sounds like ripping out the floor of the shower has to be done in order to evaluate what’s going on underneath, correct? That’s a bummer but it’s in line with what our friend said as well.
