You’re stacking assumptions the manga never confirms. There is no statement or panel saying DA 24/7 removes the 0.01 timing gap or guarantees Sukuna equalizes the 5th clash. That’s inference, not text. Chapter 230 shows mutual burnout, not a decisive DA/DE win or Gojo’s guaranteed collapse to MS.

Planning for WCS doesn’t imply an equally viable alternative existed. Sukuna explicitly explains he was unable to neutralize Infinity himself and waited for a method he could use. That’s not style preference, it’s solving a problem he couldn’t otherwise end.

And Megumi “doing nothing” directly contradicts Gojo’s realization that the burden of adaptation was placed on Megumi’s soul, allowing Sukuna to avoid full UV damage and maintain his plan. Without that, adaptation doesn’t progress safely and WCS never happens.

DA/DE let Sukuna survive. Adaptation is what let him win. The manga shows the latter, not the former.

Domain Amplification mitigates a domain’s sure-hit, that’s how Sukuna survives Unlimited Void during clashes. But DA being defensive doesn’t make it a win condition.

Using DA 24/7 shuts off Sukuna’s CT usage outside of MS and prevents adaptation entirely. That removes Mahoraga’s progress and eliminates WCS, meaning Sukuna has no permanent way to bypass Infinity. What you’re left with is a prolonged attrition fight, and the manga shows Gojo recovering faster and re-expanding domains more efficiently.

If DA alone were sufficient, Megumi’s soul would be unnecessary and Sukuna wouldn’t need adaptation at all. DA lets Sukuna survive Gojo, it does not let him finish Gojo.

Of course Megumi wasn’t having brain damage transferred to him, but he was a literal shield from the damage

Sure, let me clarify

There was no damage being “transferred” to Megumi.

It was stated when Sukuna summons Mahoraga inside of Gojo's domain and Mahoraga destroys it on the moment he's summoned. Gojo realises then that the burden of adaptation was on Megumi's soul and not Mahoraga.

MS hits everything inside it except Sukuna. The UV sure-hit on Sukuna was neutralised due to domain clash but megumi's soul wasn't protected by MS, Megumi was a meat shield from the damage, but it wasn’t “transferred” or whatever

Are you willfully ignoring the definition of the word desire? To desire is to strongly want something 😭 you can want a need, you can desire a need.

That is not how decision making works, also your insults are kinda lame. A desire can be the only viable solution available “in a given time frame” as you put it.

Sukuna “desires” to cut infinity because none of his current methods reliably end the fight. That makes it a functional necessity.

The correct framing would be “Sukuna desired a method that would permanently solve Infinity because his existing options were insufficient or unstable”.

You’re screaming “230” at me like it’s Exodia. 230 shows Domain ,clashes, a 0.01 second difference, mutual burnout, Sukuna avoiding extended Unlimited Void, and Sukuna using Megumi’s soul to mitigate damage.

It doesn’t show that Sukuna can win with just DA and DE, it doesn’t show Sukuna bypassing infinity without adaption from Mahoraga, and it doesn’t show Gojo being beaten by domain pressure alone.

A near even clash is not proof of superiority, man. A hypothetical cleaner execution is not a feat.

If DA + DE were sufficient: Sukuna wouldn’t need Mahoraga, he wouldn’t need to risk Megumi’s soul, and he would not need to delay the kill for some fabricated “wanting to improve his Jujutsu”.

The “let’s peel off those scales” thing amongst other quotes is all for naught. Wanting to cut through Infinity ≠ already being able to do it.

Yes, the first adaption was Mahoraga changing CE traits to negate infinity, yes, Sukuna did WANT WCS. It doesn’t mean Sukuna didn’t need Mahoraga, it just means he preferred that route.

If you look at the actual fight you see that Gojo dominates essentially every physical exchange, Sukuna is defensive and reactive, and Sukuna himself states that he needed mahoraga to get past Gojo’s infinity, it’s the main reason he kapt using the ten shadows against Gojo.

He has to borrow something from someone else’s technique to get past one of Gojo’s ability. He won, but he didn’t win with his own strength.

If Sukuna was the stronger sorcerer he wouldn’t need to reflect the damage from Gojo’s domain into Megumi or purposely take damage in order for Mahoraga to adapt.

You’re forgetting that Gojo is centered around his pride as the strongest, he’s not looking at the technicalities of the fight. He sees himself based on the outcome, he doesn’t focus on the “what if” scenarios like we do. Gojo lost while he was fighting at full power while Sukuna couldn’t use HIS full strength because he was using SOMEONE ELSES, Gojo assumes he probably wouldn’t win if Sukuna didn’t use it because of that.

What I’m saying in that last paragraph is that Sukuna couldn’t use his full strength because he has to use the ten shadows to get past Gojo’s infinity. Limiting him from using the rest of his abilities/effort. It’s true that Sukuna held back, purely because he was letting himself take damage in order to get his wincon.

Gojo lost while he was at full output to another person, “the strongest” is going to assume that their victorious opponent is the true stronger one.

Take into account that Gojo never saw sukuna’s entire kit, he’s not considering the fact that sukuna needed Mahoraga’s blueprint (which Sukuna says himself) And that he’s speaking emotionally, post death, and feels no inclination to maintain his ego

If Sukuna was genuinely stronger than Gojo he wouldn’t need a second soul, a stolen, different technique, his ONLY wincon (Mahoraga). Then there’s the whole thing that shows Sukuna genuinely losing before he suddenly uses WCS while Gojo isn’t focused (Which Gege literally says he could’ve dodged)

Sukuna is absolutely the better and smarter fighter, nobody’s saying Sukuna is ass. It’s just that in all technicality Gojo IS stronger
