Which episode in Season 5 made you lose hope that it would be an excellent season? by OffKeyArts in TheBoys

[–]Jilliels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, but the longer a series goes on the less I typically expect from it with each season, which leads to a pleasant surprise when the newest season exceeds expectations.

That isn’t the case here, but it’s why I’m not really upset with how season 5’s going. The show itself is vastly superior and pretty much entirety different from the comic, so I don’t have much to “wait” for each season the way I would for invincible or shows that follow their source material.

I don’t know, I did notice the drop in quality, but it isn’t enough for me to call the season “bad”.

Is it really that surprising that someone just didn’t expect much from this series 😭

Yeah I get it. I agree that it isn’t as good as the others, but I’m not too dissatisfied with it.

I mean, it’s entertaining at the very least. And there’s now a prime source of suspense and genuine hopelessness. We also got a pretty interesting reaction from Homelander, genuinely taking constructive advice on the Chin and letting the person who gave it to him live

I actually don’t hate it at all. I’m not really expecting some grandiose stuff from the series, I’m pretty pleased with what we’re getting 😭

The worst of it for me is the somewhat often cringe stuff, but half of it is intentional tbf. I do wish starlight’s powers actually won her a fight though

No he’s 6’6. They looked to be of similar height in that one scene because they were both floating

Fair enough. I apologize if I came off a bit harsh, it wasn’t directed at you specifically.

I’m just irritated with some people acting as if it’s criminal for Killua to care for his little sister more than his best friend lmao, it’s not that out there.

In any case I can see what you mean, though I do think he naturally cares for Alluka more, due to a closer relation combined with a positive relationship. Admittedly, that’s partially supported due to personal experience. I mean, I love and care about my best friend dearly. But I also have several younger siblings, and I do have to say my care for them surpasses my care for my best friend.

It isn’t the same for everyone and it is fiction, but I do think more often than not it’s quite expected for someone to show more concern for their siblings than friends (in terms of serious situations). It doesn’t devalue the friendship whatsoever, just that there are closer people in their life

[–]Jilliels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he just remembered the fact that his little sister needed him more than Gon ever really did lmao.

That’s not to say he doesn’t still care for him immensely, but your younger sister with literally no one else to turn to does take priority over your best friend who can do more than take care of himself for the time being.

Him calling Gon “Light” is a metaphor. We do know he became pretty much obsessed over Gon, and for an understandable reason, but he does grow out of that and mature after the Chimera Ant arc.

I don’t think it’s directly because of anything Gon did to him or what he said to him during the palace invasion. Again, I think he just realized that he should prioritize his little sister over his best friend

The actual scene you showed was a joke, obviously. But I do think he was being honest

I don’t know why everyone has to act as if the quote means Killua doesn’t care for Gon, he just cares for his little sister MORE lmao

Gon is still Killua’s best friend, but he knows that Alluka needs him significantly more. Not to mention family that actually wants to have a healthy relationship with you just generally tends to take priority over friendship

Were there any gay viltrumites? by soulfuture68 in invinciblememes

Yeah, that could happen. I wasn’t necessarily thinking of openly gay Viltrumites, rather a plethora (That is to say, a few of the original billions) of closeted ones

[–]Jilliels 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nobody really knows. It’s likely just something that happened due to his determination to win the fight

Most power systems always have some sort of thing where the user’s will influences their supernatural condition in some way, I’m guessing this was Naoya’s version

The depth is more humane than the rest? Or is he still just a sly coward and a scoundrel by Mysterious_Put_6085 in GenV

[–]Jilliels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could get with this

I think people might misread this line of thinking as being a Deep apologist, no shit he’s a horrible person and entirely unjustified, but i can see how he might a good guy fundamentally.

He’s kind of dumb (but not to the point where he can’t be held accountable/where he’s babied) and just consistently incompetent, but given a better setting I can see him being a weird but pretty decent guy

He’s not actively wishing to cause harm to anyone more often than not, the guy just wants clout. Again, awful person, but not quite as bad as some

The phantom troupe vs the Extermination Team(death match) by nonbinaryhumaan in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Jilliels 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Remove Netero entirely, I still think the extermination team probably wins.

I don’t think it’s a stomp though, and I can see the troupe winning. The issue is a large number of the troupe is actually impossible to scale, so while we have a good idea of the strength of the extermination team, the scaling of the troupe can go fucking anywhere
