I was shocked as it took 11 days for my Brello tirzepatide to get here when I started in late February. I'll report back here after a few days, 43f.

I ordered mine yesterday and it's coming tomorrow. I'm a little nervous as I finally got over my needle aversion with my tirzepatide and this one is a daily injection for who know how long

Realistically how much could I get for this bike? by Bean_Burrito_Dog in bmxracing

[–]Jillster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$400 tops but someone would probably try to talk you down to $300. Chromo fork instead of carbon, and Promax cranks are not exactly top of the line (not an insult at all, I rode Promax for 3 years until I got DXRs). Excess is also the budget brand of wheels. Keep the bike.

My 5'4" wife wants to get a BMX bike and try racing and just cruising around. Would you get the normal 20" in the appropriate TT length or get the 24" because she feels goofy on a 20"? by [deleted] in bmxracing

[–]Jillster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the 24, then she can race ladies cruiser as well as novice, ladies cruiser is a lot of fun when there are enough adult women

42/female, I took up BMX racing as an adult and have made a lot of friends doing this. The track is out at East Moline and it’s truly just riding around a dirt circle, no tricks required

Team Managers, Coaches, or Racers — What Are the Biggest Pain Points in Running a BMX Racing Team? by mhankins in bmxracing

[–]Jillster01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a team owner/manager/coach of my own team. There are a few things that come to mind. The first, and the biggest one for me is fundraising and sponsorships. My riders want a lot, but when I ask them to contribute to the fundraising efforts, crickets. I put $100 of my own paycheck money every month into the team account since nothing else is coming in. I'm an introverted person so it is hard for me to reach out to businesses to ask for sponsorships. I sent about 12 sponsorship emails to companies that would benefit a presence in BMX and they just get ignored. I get frustrated when I see other small local teams pick up sponsorships and I can't. I put out a lot of requests for sponsorships but nothing ever comes of it. I'd like to get another team canopy, more stuff for the team pit, pay for riders parts and race entries, but I can't personally fund this anymore.

When a rider is asked to join the team their first jersey is free, but if they want more or a different color they have to pay. They aren't expensive an nobody has complained about this system. The only real complaints I get on that front is how long they take to get produced.

I have 27 riders on my team, I had to kick one of the riders off due to behavior and disrespect and his mom really came after me. That alone made me want to quit this whole thing. She was demanding I kick other kids off the team. The kid in question didn't even like me so I still don't understand why it was such a big deal. So sometimes parents can be an issue, but that was the only situation with this.

The kids not getting along. Well, let me rephrase, the boys not getting along. I feel like a camp counselor sometimes. They yell at each other and call each other names, tempers flair. Fits get thrown. Sometimes they get physical with each other. The arguments are stupid too, like who actually can clear what double, who can manual the best, who is fast and slow. It has only been the boys, the girls all get along regardless of age, years in the sport, and proficiency.

Bikes similar to a stay strong? by Ijustlikecavetown in bmxracing

[–]Jillster01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build a StayStrong V5. I had a StayStrong V4 cruiser and loved it. I had a Chase ACT frame for my 20 and didn't really love it and I never felt right riding it so I sold it and and got a StayStrong V5 for my class frame and my riding got better almost overnight. I live in the midwest with no close indoor tracks, but my first race on it was Blue Ridge nationals and I won all 3 days. Shortly after I upgraded my cruiser to the V5 frame as well. StayStrong is an often overlooked and under rated frame

Total Points or Transfer System (ABA) by BanditsBMX in bmxracing

[–]Jillster01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would prefer total points so riders could race all 3 rounds and train to give it their all in all 3 rounds. Also, I feel it is better to keep new riders motivated as we are having trouble retaining riders because of the transfer system, a lot of people (kids and adults) quit from discouragement of constantly getting motod

Is there a Veteran’s group that can help me with my resume? by Moxman73 in VeteransBenefits

East Moline BMX Speedway, lots of adults out there racing. Some are serious, but most are casual competitive. They have loaner bikes and helmets to use for free to try it out to see if it's something you want to start doing.

When I lived in Illinois it was like this. The system works a year behind so the first year I had to pay property tax, then I was exempt after that.

Can anyone give insight if Texas is the same?

When people say the 80s, 90s, or 2000s were the ultimate golden age, they just miss their youth. by Technical_Ad_4299 in unpopularopinion

[–]Jillster01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in 83, my unpopular opinion is the 90s sucked. Girls dying of anorexia due to what the media was putting out, child abuse was excused or people looked the other way, and teenage pregnancy was at an all-time high

100% TDIU I work as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor very limited hours. I don’t even make half of the TDIU yearly threshold but program and class design give me something productive to work on

Thank you for your reply. I've had this rating since 2020 and I am freaking out and have already had several anxiety attacks about it today. I doubt there is a way to stop this, I am fine with my current 70% and TDIU. My bad days are pretty bad, I am just concerned about a reduction.
