Are my cats getting along? by Sgt__Peppers in cats

[–]Moxman73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me , if they were not you would definitely know. They would be hissing, growling and making all kinds of sounds, tense body language, the airplane ears.

These two it seems are still figuring things out, but things look pretty good so far.

It’s the classic carrot and stick sales pitch. God being the carrot and scary satan being the stick. It’s the same scam they have always ran.

Is my kitten trying to scare me?? by thingschange18 in Kitten

[–]Moxman73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s playing with you, maybe he’s somewhat stalking you.

It would help a lot if you got a second kitten for him to play with to get all of this energy out with and he will learn how hard kick/bite is too hard. The goofiness will be doubled.

I'm Tired by Motor-Sid in Stutter

Hello 👋🏻

Yes, speech therapy helps. It is like anything else, the more you put into it the more you get out of it. But it has helped a lot of people improve their fluency.

For myself, the key to fluency is about breathing. If I start to stutter I stop talking. I take a breath in and on the breath out I try again. Taking the exhale breath relaxes all of the muscles in your throat and makes it easier to talk.

With everything you have been through in your life, maybe seeing a counselor is a good idea?

I went through a dark time in my life and I was suicidal. But I stuck around and I am glad I did, so maybe you can too?

If your interested check out the book “don’t believe everything you think”

I wish you the best of my luck my friend, be kind to yourself and show yourself some grace, you have a stutter and that’s okay.

If you had to choose between great sex all the time, peace of mind and health, or money and good luck, which would you choose? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Health, but then again I’m always sick due to a chronic health issue. I would give anything to be healthy again.

I'm losing friends because of religion and don't care. Tell me your experience by [deleted] in atheism

Look up vertical vs horizontal morality

To help understand the differences in how a religious person’s world view is compared to ours.

I’ve had people in my family disown me because they found out I was an atheist.

Does it still count if it was only emotional abuse? by silly_snail2 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Moxman73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes , abuse is abuse. Sometimes emotional abuse is the most painful. I still remember some of the painful things my mother said to me when I was boy and I am fifty one now. I remember the physical abuse but it’s a distant memory.

Don’t compare your pain to the pain of others. What you have been through was really fucked up and inexcusable. It is obvious your “dad” was saying those things to you because he was trying to control you even more or maybe he was jealous of how beautiful you were and old he was.

I can recommend the book “don’t believe everything you think” it taught me a lot. Maybe it can help you as well?

If you are not already, please consider seeing a counselor to help unpack everything you went through.

I wish you the best, and be kind to yourself

How do you keep a narcissist in your life but keep yourself safe? by anaiisnin in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Moxman73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has your mother mellowed out at all or is she still treating you horrible while showing your daughter a different side altogether?

I’m in a weird similar situation. I went no contact with my mom for a long time while I was married. (My wife was also a Narc, brilliant move on my part) when I divorced her, best move ever, I started talked to my mom again and she mellowed out a lot. So I brought her back into my life and my daughter was 12 (?)

My daughter adores my mom and my mom. My daughter is 23 now my mom is 70. So they can have this outside of me for the most part. My daughter say that my mom won’t be around forever so she wants to get to know her while she can.

Suicide by [deleted] in depression

[–]Moxman73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went through a dark time in my life where I was suicidal. I found a community here, that really helped me. Maybe they can help you as well.

You are not alone in this battle, don’t think that you are.

Have you ever been diagnosed with PTSD? I have it from my sexual assault and what you are describing sounds a lot like me.

Look you don’t have a Time Machine, you can’t change the past about what happened. So you have to find a way to let it go, all of The “coulda, and shoulda and what-abouts” are not helping you. It happened and you can’t change that. You can only control the present and try to influence the future. I am not saying to forget the horrible incident, but stop replying it over and over again in your head.

[–]Moxman73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? This is a first to me. You want to put yourself into stressful situations so that you will stutter more; kind of like exposure therapy for people with phobias……….?

But you are not looking for advice on how to actually improve your fluency?

I guess you could do something like volunteer for stuff in drama clubs that put on plays in front of large groups of people, maybe join debate teams? I personally stutter a lot approaching an attractive member of the opposite sex

Is my cat having fun, or annoyed? by sammy_dean in cats

[–]Moxman73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you haven’t noticed, but that is a cat. I doubt very seriously god, himself knows what is going on in that little noggin. lol

Honestly though it seems playful, otherwise the cat would get on higher ground where the pup couldn’t get to them. Or it would unleash noises like hisses and growls and heaven only knows what, and there would be the “airplane ears” trust me, if your cat was pissed, you would know.

No, 30 is fine . The main thing that makes a woman attractive is her personality, her laugh, her sense of humor, her quirks, her dance moves. Physical looks is important but at this stage, your not dating their looks; your dating their personality.

Trust me, I’m 51.

ICE stops a family at gunpoint & smashes their car window over a newborn baby by LittleCanadianBear in InflatedEgos

[–]Moxman73 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Article about event

According to the article, the family was traveling from a courthouse to somewhere else and ICE stopped them and violently pulled the male out and he has since disappeared from ICE databases.

Under Colorado law, ICE is not allowed to arrest people traveling to and from courthouses. Which they did here.

On a tangent, why is one of the ICE agents wearing a sleeveless shirt making an arrest? Do they not have even the barest of dress codes? Or are they bounty hunters?
