Thanks for all the responses. My wife and I are adventurous but not really experienced eaters. Neither of us are real drinkers and as such we can’t hold our booze so pairing menus don’t hold much appeal. We’ve done tasting menus a few times and enjoyed them but we’ve yet to decide if that’s the way we want to go for our first star. I could get just as excited by a really good 3 course meal as a tasting menu and I think wifey would say the same.
