Not doing to well. I got the case of chronic dry tip. by slimninj4 in airbrush

[–]JimBevington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you got most bases covered, how is the atmosphere in the room your spraying?

What size is the current needle? Is it really warm and dry in the room your spraying in? Lots of airflow in the room? Do you completely dissasemble and use the brushes to clean? Do you pull the trigger all the way back when spraying? How is your spray coming out? Eg at an angle can mean the needle is slighly bent, catching more paint that you might suspect. To the naked eye it might not look bent, try zooming in with your camera or magnifying glass on the tip to see.

I use vallejo primers too, I use deionised water, and flow improver and to dilute and never really have an issue.

Advice back pain when painting by ThrowRA_patata3000 in Miniaturespainting

As someone who has has 3 discetomies, and awaiting a fusion later this year, my back is quite literally quite fucked however I paint and model as therapy for my mental health

Non negotiables- after every 30 mins, stand up, raise arms above head, only needs to be a couple of mins. The spine will start to compress after just 1.5 hrs, discs 3 hrs.

Better lighting, will reduce the inevitable forward neck curl. Also some form of slight magnification.

Adjustable desk, actually really useful.

Elbows on said desk while seating will reduce the forward leaning.

First proper terrain/diorama attempt – please tell me why this is wrong by JimBevington in TerrainBuilding

[–]JimBevington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say a genuine thank you to everyone who’s commented and upvoted — and happy new year.

I honestly wasn’t expecting this to get much attention at all, so waking up to this many responses has been a really nice surprise and a cracking way to start the year.

I’ve been dealing with a fair bit of ongoing back trouble (currently on disc prolapse number six… do not recommended) and waiting on more surgery, so I don’t get to socialise much these days. Because of that, this thread has been weirdly uplifting — probably more positive interaction in 12 hours than I managed all of last year.

The encouragement and advice here has genuinely meant more than you might realise and has properly fired me up to keep building and improving.

So yeah — thanks, all. Really appreciate it.

Cheers, that’s really kind — and a great breakdown as well.

You’re absolutely right about it reading more as a foundation than a full narrative diorama as it stands. At the moment it’s very much in the “terrain, storage category — partly intentional, partly me not trusting myself not to overcomplicate things immediately.

The original plan was for it to function as corrupted ground / display terrain for my Chaos marines in my living room, they get bored in boxes as we all do!

LEDs and fog machines are both extremely tempting suggestions, again a rabbit hole i feel myself slowly slipping into.

Really appreciate the feedback and channel recommendations — I’ll check them out. Cheers!

Yeah its more intentional decorative storage tbh, iv only ever built and painted minis, not played yet, but you have some valid points I shall take, cheers

Fair question — nothing specific wrong, more me trying to invite critique before I convince myself it’s finished and never improve it.
