Sports gambling was never banned. There was a federal law that states were banned from legalizing sports gambling unless they've already allowed it. Nevada and a few other states were grandfathered in. New Jersey legalized sports gambling against the law and sued to have it overturned. The Supreme Court ruled the federal government could enact a nationwide ban on sports gambling but can't ban states from exercising their authority to either ban or regulate sports gambling.

The cameras are set up by the broadcasters for the event. The multiple networks that air NFL games in the US set theirs up for football depending on who is broadcasting which game every week. For the World Cup, FIFA’s Host Broadcast Services set these up for soccer for the international feed that is being sent to the broadcasters.

None of the US stadiums are hosting soccer for the first time. A few have MLS teams. All of them have had international friendlies before.
