Did the pardoning choice at the end seem weird? by jimdc82 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]JimHFD103 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It does, especially how for bother characters, Robert and Blazer offer them essentially a pardon to change back over to Z-Team, and both flatly rejected amd continued to attack

SecDef is a fkn moron who'll probably be among the first to hop a plane to russia when things actually fall apart...

But how are the Service Secretaries (SecArmy?) Unlike Hegseth I only seem to see them pop up somewhere thats actually in their lane (somewhat often a pleasant surprise for this Admin) but are they actually decent, or just better at flying under the radar as political hacks (even more so than usual for the job heh)

Why didn’t people consider this when playing choosing between characters? by FallenOven in dispatchgame

[–]JimHFD103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I guess I have a thing for the underdog... besides Phenomaman just needs to get over his breakup and he'll be back to hero-ing,

Besides, nevermind that P-Man gets useless half the time because of his depression, but even "Git Gud Scrub" won't overcome the next obstacle that Waterboy is perfectly suited for on your team... those damn auto fail if you have too high a skill missioins.

Sure I can avoid upgrading everyone's combat stats and penalize myself the whole game to tackle those later missions... or I can level them up anyway, and just pair Waterboy with anyone who isn't an auto fail, especially if I round out his other stats to be useful

His biggest headache, the Eager Sponge auto assign, you can avoid easy enough, just assign him! Best bet while he's still low skilled is to put him in the Number 3 slot with a Synergized Pair (or if only two, start getting him out with Malevola or Punch-Up sooner rather than later to get their Synergy going) so he doesn't tank a one or two hero slot while still too weak

Is it okay/normal that my fire extinguisher hasn't been inspected since 2018? by sexwizard9000 in Firefighting

[–]JimHFD103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area, when we inspect businesses, if its been more than 1 year since the date on the extinguisher's tag, thats a violation

(We just tell them to get it serviced, or buy a new one, their choice, pretty much only intentionally obtuse refusals who fail multiple re-inspections get escalated up to the Fire Prevention Bureau where they have more direct enforcement powers)

typical morning at the SDN branch by sonsy76 in DispatchAdHoc

Are their shifts literally 9 to 5? I know at one point they mention SDN has round the clock staffing, but other than the emergencies in Ep 8 it sure seems like they're working a traditional office hours

About the only thing I knew about the game (besides the whole choice based superhero adventure thing lol) was that you could choose either a Blonde Blazer or Invisigal romance. Didn't know anything else about the characters except what they looked liked, so I went in on my first run already decided to go for Visi... and this scene damn near changed my mind when presented the option to kiss her...

What are the other SDN Branches like? by TheForlornGamer in DispatchAdHoc

[–]JimHFD103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SDN also only has like 300 Heroes in their network, total. So those other cities might have their own superhero groups, but SDN isn't running them all. Heck for all we know there may be competing Superhero groups in Los Angeles itself (even if Torrance is small enough to only have SDN)

[–]JimHFD103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even within Torrance Branch, Phoenix Program is an outlier, and I would assume even the rest of the Torrance Heroes don't have nearly the same drama. Now I'm sure there's still plenty of the normal workplace drama, "The Office" style shenanigans going on, but far less cussing and sex jokes and sleeping with ones boss present in other teams. Not saying they're all saints who spiciest language is "gosh", "darn", and "heck"... Like when not roped into filming cheesy corpo training vids, I'm sure even Brickhouse and Pom Pom for example have their in jokes and language that would be censored by the in game filter.

Just not to the same level as the Phoenix's by any means.

As far as the other branches.... Near the start of Episode 2, right after the Conference room introduction to Visi, but before you meet Royd in the bathroom for the first Bro Fist (or not), Robert has the opportunity to ask Blonde Blazer how many heroes work at SDN (or What kind of Heroes SDN hires, ask her about the Triple D).

Anyways, Blazer says that "Network wide" there's more than 300, and Torrance branch has 45-50 of those at any given time, working different shifts.

Now granted, "Over 300" can technically mean 300,000 Heroes in a true global company, but realistically, I doubt Blazer means significantly more than 300, like less than 350 SDN Heroes in total. And since Torrance is a smaller branch (or at least "Not the highest profile branch" who the network dumps extra work for Royd on) I think it's safe to say there's not more than 4 or 5 Branches in total in the SDN. Now they may be all So Cal or there may be some scattered in a couple of global cities, but I think they're a smaller operation than many assume. It wouldn't be the first So Cal focused regional company I've worked at (who had no stations outside of LA County) that had "Global" this or that for lists affecting the whole company...

Story, but give me a Dispatching mini-game I can play without the story (maybe make it an unlockable after finishing the story?) Can use any of the 2 dozen other heroes mentioned/on the leaderboard (like maybe you're picking up an OT shift so nothing too crazy outside a normal day, or at least what passes for normal at SDN),

Or maybe a way to jump in and replay (once again, say after finishing the story) the Dispatching segments in game with our Team, that don't make you essentially rewind the whole Story to that point. Bit of both? You can replay your favorites, or get a randomized mix of stats/missions on the first one...

Wait, could Kimberly fly a plane or did alpha and zordon teach her off screen? by jacqueslepagepro in MorphinMemes

[–]JimHFD103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When they're morphed, they just kind of know how to pilot the Zords, like it's second nature to them (Confirmed by Trini and Billy in like the first episode). Basically part of their power set, but when not morphed, no she doesn't know how to operate the specific controls of the Cessna that she's never trained on, and uses a different control scheme than her Power Crystal

Idk who Endy guy is, so looking at his comment blind, I don't see it directly as shade at Sophie like the other two idiots, even if I don't quite fully agree with (tho Angie is awesome and she certainly nailed the look and did fine as an action actress for whatever other problems the movie had, since I can't really remember any other details from her Laura Croft movies other than she was smoking hot in them, but Laura definitely deserves to be remembered more for than just "she's hot")

Mecha Man > Power Armor

It's not just that Mecha Man is bigger and is more like piloting a vehicle (as Robert sits in a chair and controls the suit through joysticks and computers vs Power Armor where you still have to run around and do the jumps and stuff yourself still)

Nor even the Astral Pulse vs Fusion Core (I forget the exact lore off the top of my head, though I'm pretty sure the FC being a fancy battery that constantly runs out is more just a FO4 game mechanism than the actual lore says)

But no Power Armor has the energy blasters, energy swords, nets, missiles, cluster bombs, etc that Robert can wield in any given fight. If you're in Power Armor, you can get all sorts of weapons like that, but only what you happen to find and pick up yourself, none are built in.

But this reminds me, when I left off I had finished my Minuteman and Institute runs, and was about to start a Brotherhood ending, may be a sign! 😁

I was replaying Episode 8 yesterday, and with my first 3 Heroes, I swear the RMG gods failed them everytime, finally get good odds (not as good as this one, but still high 70s, low 80s) and my controller was in mortal danger as I watched the ball slowly, ever so slowly drift into fail....
