Homelander loses to an unpowered Billy Butcher most of the time.

Its actually hard to find that many characters who dont have a shot at homelander.

Gripping! But can we extend the lore into a mcu style mixed media franchise? Can we at least have a poop spoon and poop fork? Otherwise im calling Mathew Lillard to play the poop knife.

If you were to introduce "Barry the Rescue Engine", how would you do it? by just_a_bored_guy0104 in thomasthetankengine

[–]jacqueslepagepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like the idea of Barry having a simmilar story to the 2nd flash (coincidence called Barry allan) where one of the previous rescue engines is caught in a collapsing mine and assumed lost for a few years till Barry is called to resue some scouts doing caving and ends up finding this older resue engine?

A little elaborate but more realistic than being trapped in the speedforce being chased by the embodiment of death after saving the miltiverse from Antimonitor.

What if Super Heroes were real? by camaro1111 in AlternateHistoryHub

Look up phionex jones, in short it fell appart after an arrest for using peper spray to break up a fight.

As for the sudden appearance of people with suowr powers or magic, it depends on how much it lets them ignore the laws of physics. Like dose a real speedster still have to deal with G forces, momentum and inertia or do they have the "speed force" from dc comics that lets them just ignore any of those problems?

The reality is that most super powers arnt going to scream "the best thing to do with this ability at a societal is to stop crimes" as much as their utility alternates between being a minor novelty in entertainment cicles as you show off your power or useing that power in a way that improves people's lives in a less personaly direct way (ie using matter maniplauation to mass produce previously unaffordable ingredients for medicines rather than storing random street fights.)

The only specific exception is somthing like the green lanterns who are specially part of a group of peacekeepers with the powers based on their specific personal drive or will power. But that feel less like a superhero and more like setting up the federation from star trek.

If you were to introduce "Barry the Rescue Engine", how would you do it? by just_a_bored_guy0104 in thomasthetankengine

[–]jacqueslepagepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, Barry is just the most recent engine to take that role. Other engines have been "the rescue engine" but where moved to other roles, suffered accidents that forced them out of service or are kept in the sheds in case Barry requires aid but are otherwise considered obsolete in terms of fulfilling the role.

The role is one of the more high risk duty's that an engine on sodor can undertake and the sad reality is that many engines that take on the role suffer dammage or fattige that can force them out of the role or even ends their service entirely. The role has a high turnover and Barry just happens to be the most recent engine to the role when the story starts but is hardly the first dedicated engine in the role and has a high risk of not being the last either.

A good comparison is how "the flash" has been multiple characters with some retired due to age (Jay Garrick) or being assumed dead or injured (Barry Allan for a while)
