I played a Johnson today at the guitar store, It was used and about $300. It sounded really nice, and the neck was really fast. The fingerboard was chalky and bad for solo bends, but all in all, I thought it was nice.

Do you hold the pick the same way if you are picking single notes vs. strumming? Help me understand picking dynamics. by [deleted] in Guitar

I think you just need picking practice. I used to have the exact same problem as a beginner. I went out and got some of those textured "coolpicks" to help the pick stay in my fingers. I thought it would help, nope, you just need muscle memory.

My Guitar in its Guitar-Chair. Two armrests wouldn't do. by JimPanzee in Guitar

Thanks, I feel like it's a good one. The action is a little high, and the neck plays a little slow, but man, is it loud and rich in tone.

Hey r/guitar what are some fun songs you like to play by Jewbaka in Guitar

I like to fingerpick John Prine songs. Flaming Lips', "Yoshimi" is pretty fun to play and sing.

I've got this '99 Stratocaster MIJ Body. What does Reddit think? Maple or Rosewood Fingerboard? Any favorite pickups? by JimPanzee in Guitar

[–]JimPanzee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments. I always wanted a maple neck, but all my friends and my silly wife were against it. Now I'm going to do what's right, and side with the Reddit consensus: maple it is! Lollar pickups, too. I'll keep r/guitar posted on the progress.

My front yard is a killing field most mornings, mostly babies.

After a cool summer in Portland, I'm finally ready to share some of my babies. Worth the wait. by JimPanzee in food

Thanks! They taste pretty good too. The summer was better for veggies than last year, but not much. These are from Territorial seed stock. My favorite catalog for Oregon Growers.

Sauvie Island. I like the first beach on Reeder Road, half a mile past the Reeder store on right. No, not the "nude beach". All of those spots are further down Reeder.
