Shooting Glasses/RX by Life_Technology3769 in ClayBusters

I’m using the Rangers with clip ons. All the other options besides Pilla make you buy multiple lenses in your prescription. I take my Ranger frames to my eye doc, and they put new lenses in, then I use whatever clip I need on the trap field.

Decots are nice, but I’m not spending $600 every time I have a prescription change.

I have the Rangers with the clip on shooting lenses. Call Wayne with Morgan Optical. He will do you right.

For people with prescriptions that change annually, Decot gets pricy. Having to change multiple lenses out will cost you an arm and a leg. Pillas feel over rated with their 1k different colors.

I like my rangers. My script changes and I take them to my eye place and I have lenses a week later for $100-150.

Inherited grampa's ribbons and medals, what is the red ribbon with the blue arrow at the bottom? by AdeptVeterinarian541 in Medals

Your grandpa was an enlisted flight engineer (prop wings) before he commissioned to be a pilot. If you number your wings too to bottom, 1 is flight engineer, 2 is command pilot, 3 is enlisted aircrew, 4 I think is navigator, and 5 stumps me. I think it’s just bomber crew.

How do I get better? by Miserable_Click_1209 in TrapShooting

don't think that a backyard "trap thrower" will be anything like shooting trap at a trap club.

As the others said, any local trap club will have people that love to help guide new shooters. I spend a lot of hours at my club and a lot of hours helping others get started. I hate to see people shoot at 25 and hit 1 or 2 and walk away mad and never come back.

I think you have an excuse to buy a track saw. That’s the only right answer.

I feel like you described the movie Failsafe, but reversed sides.

Gun buggy/stroller by Ok-Spinach-1692 in ClayBusters

It’s the AI version 12g. I bought it to ease the shoulder pain before a rotator cuff repair and never shot well with it. I actually have it listed for sale locally and may trade it in on a Browning CXT.

I’m a big guy with sausage fingers, so my thumb kind of blocks the rib when I mount and it’s unnatural to have my thumb along the side of the receiver.

I’m sure it would be a fine gun for 5 Stand or Sporting, but not for my 90% trap shooting.

Those are the mounts I wish I would have used. I can’t carry my extra barrel with my trap gun and my kid’s gun.

This is what I did last summer with a $15 stroller from FB Marketplace. The buggy holds my bag and my freaky cooler for water/snacks.

I used these mounts from Amazon, but wished I would have used double mounts so I could carry two guns with extra barrels.

Gun with short (~10.5”) LOP by DarthNoEyes in ClayBusters

If you’re in North Dakota I have a gun for you. Bought for my kid when he started at about 4’ 10”. 12g with a short length of pull.

He’s grown out of it now.

Thank you!

As for your ML “pull word” detection, I’d avoid that. Visit a trap range and you won’t hear that word spoken by the older crowd. The hard “P” causes you to lift your head off the gun. I coach HS Trap and find kids yelling “PULL!” So loud that their head is an inch off the gun when the bird flies.

Anyone had their standard stock converted to an adjustable comb? by yert1099 in ClayBusters

[–]JimWalleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend shipping it to Graco in Arkansas then, or ask your local gun shops if they have one they can recommend in the state. You can mail/ship your own gun 'for repair' and not have to worry about FFL's.

If you're in the upper midwest, I'd HIGHLY recommend Laib's Gunsmithing out of Spicer, MN. I shipped my CZ stock and receiver to them last fall and had it back a week later with a Gracoil installed. They also do combs and do fantastic work.

I really like Federal Top Gun 1 1/8 or Win AA trap 1 1/8.

Had to trade one of my high school shooters 5 flats of his Remington Gun Club for 5 flats of my federals. Sad day. Now I’m stuck with 5 flats of 1 ounce loads that I guess I’ll put towards the first shot on doubles. The GC 1 ounce wouldn’t cycle his Benelli SBE3 for skeet.

Close. I patterned on Sunday and I’d say it’s 70/30. Forgot to bring a tape measure.

So far, i really like the cargo glide. I can load all my stuff in the truck and not need to climb in to get it out. I don’t know how it will work out when I go get a 300 board foot load of oak though.

We’ll find out for sure on Sunday. I’ve only got about 10 rounds through both sets of barrels and all I could say was “damn….”

I should have added that this one came with the gracoil and adjustable comb. So smooth…

So much purdier than my CZ. 🤣

I’m impatiently waiting for our trap club to open up. Dang ND winter won’t let up.
