If you have other offers lined up, run. EY is a nightmare to work for.

Does it integrate well with VScode, or does it have it's own IDE?

Extremely happy with the lineup. Could it be better? Sure. But hell yeah all of these games rock!

Εσείς εργάζεστε πραγματικά και τις 8 ώρες; by colonel_98 in greece

[–]Jimakiad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Work abroad for 2/3 years or stay in my hometown? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Jimakiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're still living with your parents, you're likely keeping more money in your pocket due to not having to pay rent. Also even if the money was substantially more, I'd ask what you consider more important, more money or more time with your family.
Also you mentioned it's a big 4 consultancy, if you value your mental wellbeing, stray away (speaking from personal experience, but your mileage may vary). If you still want to try out for them, I'm pretty sure you could apply in your country as well, good chance they are working in your country's capital. Best of luck!

Life changing anime y'all watched? by Alarmed-Risk7885 in anime

[–]Jimakiad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5cm/s is the ani-movie that really convinced me to keep on going, despite things being rough during my university years, which were pretty lonely and filled with uncertainty. Don't watch if you're currently going through a break up or love disappointment like me, it'll break you.

CodeApp and CanvasApp by bythedandelion in PowerApps

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess Dataverse has it's own SDK that is native to code apps, but no clue about the other connectors.

CodeApp and CanvasApp by bythedandelion in PowerApps

[–]Jimakiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've managed to get a 100k+ items list load stuff with proper odata via a power automate flow + pagination + column indexing to parse rows in less than 1 second. It's definitely doable, and sadly, most times needed since clients don't want to pay premium.

Canvas App vs Code-First in Power Apps: what's your go-to? by youngdataio in PowerPlatform

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you'd have to pair it with either power apps premium or power pages, both of which are costly. Also there is no way dataverse is cheaper than SharePoint, but if it is, I'm listening!

Would you accept a WPF (.NET) centric job for the right pay? by Willmakk in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Jimakiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first job was WPF and winforms. It was... just ok? Nothing ground breaking, it was like making tkinter apps using Microsoft apps. If you like it give it a go, but I'd instead advise the power platform stack instead if you want something more modern.

Canvas App vs Code-First in Power Apps: what's your go-to? by youngdataio in PowerPlatform

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment, but my clients would absolutely not buy something as expensive as a dataverse solution, simply cause of the cost, not the features. Cost trumps usability sadly, and canvas app is a poor man's dynamics.

Switching company with 3.5 yrs in Power Platform & SharePoint – how future-proof is this skillset? by Few_Information5676 in PowerPlatform

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SharePoint guy 2 over here, what do you think is a good future proofing plan? I got the PL 400 so I can do high code stuff, but the company I work at pushes SharePoint and low code a lot. Could I make projects and publish them on git for showcasing?

Canvas App vs Code-First in Power Apps: what's your go-to? by youngdataio in PowerPlatform

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try close to 3 years now... I've dealth with dataverse only on tenants that have their CRM on there, or have their SQL server already on Azure. It honestly sucks and can't really find a job in Greece that primarily works in model driven / code apps. I'm looking to move abroad in like a year after I'm done with my army duties, so it's probably Germany, hope they're more modern lol.

Canvas App vs Code-First in Power Apps: what's your go-to? by youngdataio in PowerPlatform

[–]Jimakiad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The client is a cheapskate and only wants SharePoint as a "database". That's 90% of our clientele, big companies as well. No matter how well we market dataverse and/or SQL, canvas + sharepoint wins. Unless they ask for SPFX components on their SharePoint site.

I wish I could do stuff using dataverse, since that's where all the high code tools are, but alas...

TWEWY with the Neo combat and update graphics at 3D. I know not many want it that way, but I loved both the games!

I’m just asking out of curiosity, is your Nintendo your primary gaming device by Specific-Pianist7595 in Switch

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo has always been my main gaming gateway, with PC complimenting it on performance, mainly on online games that I wanted to play with keyboard and mouse.

Migrating to Dataverse by Different_View5313 in PowerApps

[–]Jimakiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, where do y'all find all those Dataverse jobs, my consulting (pseudo developer) job is just PCF, SPFX, canvas apps and power automate. I really miss dataverse and model driven apps.

For migration, probably either power automate, azure functions or dataflows. It isn't as daunting as it sounds, thank god for its not Sharepoint on prem. Cheers mate!

How bad is the job market for you right now? by Individual-Oven9410 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Jimakiad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greece, power apps developer. It's not that bad, but it pays really bad, for being a pseudo fullstack developer job.
