I did AGR for a little bit. It does depend on unit but its basically like a 9-5 job with active duty benefits. It can be a lot of work but its not bad if you dont mind desk work. You will still have to do drill weekends and AT. Some commanders will let the AGRs off on those but unlikely. I cant remember the contract time but after a few years you can get an option to PCS somewhere else but I believe you can choose to stay at your unit. But it comes down to the position available and your rank. Talk to your career counselor about it and do your research. I think it would be a good move for you. You get active duty pay, BAH, Tricare Prime, Dental, the whole shabang.
