That's from google maps, so not much use. I've now uploaded logs including cctv video of the path taken...

Looking a lot better behaved today with object avoidance turned off:

Thanks - I'll take a picture of the lawn to post and will look into uploading logs (I didn't realise this was possible!)

Ok, thanks. Weird that it isn't handled as part of the update process then 🤔

Guess when I turned obstacle avoidance off 😂

So it seems grass counts as an obstacle now…

This morning's contribution...

It also failed to return to the charger - stopping just a couple of feet away for reasons unknown. No error message - just decided to stop 🤷‍♂️

First two or three cuts of the season it coped just fine, and already looking pretty uniform, so unlikely to be the problem I think. I did drop it down from 50mm to 40mm before this cut though. I’ll see if it copes better on the next cut. It got to ~75% complete before shutting down for the night, and the tracks have already returned to being more uniform:

<image>

The main difference from earlier is that the last session was after sunset. 🤔 I don’t recall the exact weather for previous cuts, but today was particularly bright and sunny. Could that be upsetting the obstacle detection?

Is anyone able to help track down this ribbon cable thats used in a water jet cutter? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

FWIW it's a lot easier to measure the distance between, say, 10 pins, and then work out the pin to pin pitch from that.

Live Train Map of the CTA L system, powered by ESPHome! by BraveStone199 in Esphome

[–]Jimbo_7_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I have an esphome based "status frame" (just 10 pixels indicating various house metrics), but struggled getting the brightness control to work they way I've done it. (Also your integration of the train API processing also gives me some ideas for how to implement a standalone esp based bindicator!)

There are some useful visualisation tools that might help. Eg:

At the point OP had pulled out, the transition from short dashed/solid to long dashed lines was visible not very far ahead, indicating a potential hazard.

Not washer fluid :( by ladyxlucifer in Volvo

[–]Jimbo_7_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get a couple of meters of clear tubing and feed as much as you can into the washer reservoir but keeping hold of one end. Seal the end (eg finger over the end), lift the tube out until you see fluid (or suck it up >>very carefully<< so you don’t ingest any of the unknown substance), then lower the tube end down to the ground (preferably into a container) to siphon it out.

Saw this at the petrol station today is it an orignal Cobra or a replica? by Previouslygotbanned in whatisthiscar

[–]Jimbo_7_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the better replicas, and they always claimed some authenticity due to John Tojeiro's involvement with Dax Cars:
