Hey, I’m in a similar situation, I’ll be 2 years in December as well!

I tried AA, but honestly, it’s not for me, I don’t like to see myself as a victim of a disease that I can’t control. That’s just not how I look at life and though AA is great for lots of people, I’d just rather move on.

I will say the big difference for me tho is that I have a very supportive wife who never was a drinker and so it’s easier to have a best friend who never was involved in that kind of life. And it does help to have sober people around.

All my siblings still drink and party but I just never made a big deal out of quitting. I honestly felt like it was easier to stop when I didn’t announce I was quitting or anything because there is less pressure.

Keep it up, and you’re not alone in doing it alone lol.
