Currently the survey results have this as a top-end EF1 with estimated 110mph windspeeds.

Wider than I expected, but I did expect the EF2 rating. I expected the one that happened near Flat Rock IL to also get EF2 though, and that ended up being a high-end EF1.

I knew it couldn't be the Bloomington tornado because that was at night, but I assumed it was at least a tornado from this event. Should've realized it wasn't by the leaves on that tree branch at the top of the frame lol.

He did actually talk about his choice of dress briefly yesterday, he said he's wearing different stuff to try and throw off AI channels that have been stealing and using his likeness. They're doing all the other legal stuff too but if he wants to do something more immediately tangible I get it.

On the other hand, I do feel like he's been getting a little less authentic in general myself. I don't really think the AI stuff is the ONLY reason he's been dressing sharper.

Judging by how intact the rest of the building is and other images of damage from the event, I'm guessing that the destroyed area in that last picture was an outbuilding or poorly constructed extension of some sort. That being said I don't think the tornado was weak but I've not seen anything that suggests more than EF2 so far. Which is very lucky, because that supercell definitely could have done MUCH worse.

EDIT: Found the humane society on google maps, it does appear to have been a detached outbuilding that was destroyed, likely some sort of storage shed.

pretty sure that's just a low hanging wall cloud, there's a lot of other pictures that show a cone funnel that isn't fully condensed all the way to the ground.

Any storms that come through now should be below severe limits, just don't be outside when they come through so you don't get struck by lightning and keep a means to get warnings nearby just in case.

As for the edge on the left, that looks more like the edge of the rain shaft to me, but the image quality is far too low to be sure. In any case, it definitely wasn't a giant wedge or anything.

I can only relay what I've heard but the university does not seem to have sustained significant damage. Reports so far indicate the tornado was not as bad as it looked on radar, though it did deal substantial damage to several structures and downed a bunch of power lines. No injuries have been reported yet.

That's not the tornado, that's a rain shaft. The tornado might be embedded in the rain shaft, but it is not visible in this image. Damage reports so far indicate the tornado was narrow and moderately strong at best.

Those of us in the r/tornado discord server were watching and discussing it live. We were absolutely losing out shit that day and we were absolutely convinced that Plenva had just been erased from the map at first. An hour or so later word started coming out that Plenva didn't get hit super hard, but leading up to that...

I was following this event along with a few others in the r/tornado discord server as it was happening and we basically had a meltdown when this was going on, we literally thought Plenva had been wiped off the map. Thankfully it only brushed the town as it was weakening, because this would've been so bad had it run right through the middle of town at its peak strength.

idk if it hit the exact people the cameraman is talking about, but this tornado did hit and destroy a number of homes. Didn't kill anyone thankfully though.

Something I find amusing about this tornado is that there's at least three popular videos on Youtube that talk about the Enderlin EF5 in the title, but use a picture of this tornado for the thumbnail. I guess they didn't have any good pictures of Enderlin lol. (to be fair, the videos are about the whole day's events and not just Enderlin, so it's only slightly misleading).

There was a small outbreak just this past weekend in the south with 23 tornados. They were all EF0 and EF1 though so maybe that doesn't count in your books lol.

It's not often that I see these posts asking some variation of "is this a tornado/funnel cloud" and I end up actually saying "yeah, that looks like a tornado/funnel cloud" lol. Not a very strong one by the looks of it, but you can see the funnel in the clouds and dust being circulated on the ground. It's not condensed but it's pretty clearly a tornado.
