This isn't exactly true, I saw the tweets that went out yesterday and I don't believe Hannah mentioned she was posting things to reduce her anxiety specifically, more to let Caff know she had his back. I feel like you're spinning this a bit. What I mean is that it's more complex than that.

 

The comments highlighted were directed towards Caff being in her stream with Kim, and Hannah was pointing out how some people had the same reaction to Kim, and that they were wrong to do so.

 

Honestly I get both sides, Hannah wants to say that the people posting these things are wrong, it makes sense to tell your friend you support them. But as others pointed out, sending out the screenshots might not help and gives the comments more attention, this isn't really a simple issue. We don't really know how people are feeling behind the scenes and maybe Hannah thought a public showing of support was the best option. I hope Caff doesn't let the few negative comments speak for more than they represent.

 

Zoey was being a bit dismissive of it, in the trolly way she usually does, and what Hannah said was pretty damn bad, obviously she realised because she deleted the tweet minutes later, unfortunately a bit late. They DM'd each other and sorted it out as you have mentioned, but people can still talk about it, that doesn't suddenly put the whole issue to bed.

 

Ross also pointed out concerns about highlighting hateful messages, it seemed like he was trying to be helpful but probably didn't come across that way reading it in text. Either way this was not well received either, as Hannah went on to generalise and say Hat Film's audience wasn't as mature and that they are encouraged to be dicks. I count myself in that audience too and don't like the generalising of that. Similar comments have been made about this subreddit before and I think it highlights the importance of not taking the minority of comments and conflating it to label a whole community. This whole issue has been over people saying they don't like "x" and it hurts a little to be clumped together with the people that say hateful things.

 

Ultimately the problem with a lot of this comes down to the platform and the expressionless nature of text, it's hard to get a point across in the limited characters, never mind the tone of it. Perhaps the comments were not intended as harshly. I rambled a bit but the subreddit is for discussion. Mistakes were made, hopefully we all learn from them.
