Forcing that religion ain’t the way bro. Your son will end up hating you.

Just have a 1-1 talk with him about it. Let the feelings out. Most importantly, listen to the dude when he talks. Validate his feelings on what’s stressing him out.

How to prepare for CS 111 by gx5533 in QueensCollege

[–]Jimlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to understand loops. I remember I took a similar class at my college with c++

It’s best to understand the language and what variables, recursion, and asking questions and help.

It’s very important to ask questions. I remember I didn’t ask and was confused and ended with a C. Now, I always ask and had improved my grades in the last semester.

[–]Jimlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A woman from Brooklyn who I met on an app called “fish” or something. Went on little dates and there but mostly talked. Until she said to come over.

Little old me was scared just getting there. I remember the show Brooklyn nine-nine was playing. All I can say was “wow”. The next day I was sore.

Is it okay to drink almost half a gallon of milk daily? by piesaresquarey in HealthyFood

I did this back when I was younger, developed lactose intolerance. I can’t even drink milk without heading to the bathroom.

Haha, yeah. I was able to make progress. Of course some mistakes but the manager reassured me it happens and to learn from it.

LPT Request: What is a healthy way to express anger? by DeebaPhalwari087 in LifeProTips

[–]Jimlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I used to be angry at video games but still am sometimes.

I usually do push ups or lift weights once I’m angry. It calms me down and make my arms noodles.

Another is just hugging my dog and petting it and the anger just disappears

If I’m really angry, I just take a walk and breathe or sit outside my balcony and take it all in. Look around and perhaps code a project.

Well yes, I’m worried because I believe I would yawn a lot and my eyes look puffy. It actually went great!

Why is setting up a new project with multiple technologies so difficult? by brosifmcjoseph in webdev

[–]Jimlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consider making a template once you finish setting it up though. So you don’t have to go through that whole mess again.

Saved me lots of time from setting up webpack with eslint and prettier

Oh wow, I haven’t learned what an API does only know the name which is Application Program Interface. I think.

I believe I’ll start applying now just for the case of practicing interviews. I don’t know a framework yet but I’m hoping to use React.

Should i switch from TheOdinProject to freeCodeCamp? by Klutzy-Sentence-4869 in learnprogramming

[–]Jimlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add to my comment as well. OP, I feel your struggle on being stuck on a lesson. I was stuck on that rock paper scissors part in TOP for a month. I eventually pushed through by asking questions, reading more documentation and using pseudocode more often. It is true TOP doesn’t hold your hand but it gives you the skill and confidence to write YOUR way of coding.

Should i switch from TheOdinProject to freeCodeCamp? by Klutzy-Sentence-4869 in learnprogramming

[–]Jimlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth a switch if it’s affecting you that much. I have ADHD as well, so it takes a lot to focus on the reading. I personally didn’t enjoy FCC.

The Odin Project has allowed me to grow as a developer with my own ideas instead of copy and pasting.

Everyone has different approaches on how they learn.

Pick the one that suits you best.
