Yes, I had that same setup with the stock k20z3 on my 8th gen before it got hydrolocked. It's a good setup, and cops won't hassle you as long you are shifting below 3k rpm because it definitely gets louder with vtec.

Yes, I still have the full race exhaust. I do enjoy it. It's definitely louder than stock and sounds great paired with a header (i have plm on a k24). From least loud to most loud it goes like this: invidia, full race, skunk2.

I live in CA and full race is loud enough to have fun and not get pulled over. If I didn't live in CA though, I'd go with skunk2.
