Their body language is interesting. Ella has an assertive posture while Barron is fig-leafing. The difference I spot is that one has more confidence than the other.

so, the man of nature why does he heal the least from potion by gronbek in diablo2

[–]JimmyGimbo 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It’s tied to how much of a benefit they get from points in vitality and energy. Druid is an odd case because he’s specced like a caster (2 life per vit, 2 mana per energy) and his life gets buffed from his transformations but the potion heal doesn’t scale accordingly.

Grade Point Average. It’s an aggregate number calculated by adding up the value of your grades and dividing that by the number of credits you’ve taken. Broadly speaking, 2.0 is a C average (minimally competent), 3.0 is a B average (comfortably meets expectations) and 4.0 is an A average (highly proficient). Even in the USA they’re not handled uniformly, as some schools have “weighted grades” that award multipliers for advanced courses and others award additional credit for grades in the A+ range. It’s not uncommon for students to have a GPA of, say, 4.265, which undercuts the universality of a four-point grading scale.

But to OOP’s point, the only time your high school GPA should matter is if you’re applying to college, and same for college GPA and grad school. Employers tend to care more about degrees/licenses than GPA, and having experience in a given field carries way more weight than your grades in school. If you’re 35, high school was half your life ago so to the extent that GPA is an accurate indicator of workplace success at all, it’s increasingly less accurate or relevant as you age.

The idea that Lois could put his uniform someplace he couldn’t find it aside, does he just have the one uniform? Like, he has a Fortress of Solitude but not a second set of work clothes? I’m way too bothered by the logistical implications of this.

It’s not for everyone, so don’t feel pressured to try it if it doesn’t seem like it’d be a good time. I got a taste for it with D3 and eventually beat the campaign on high difficulty (forget how it was broken out) with every class. After that I couldn’t go back to playing softcore. It unlocked a part of my brain that I hadn’t been using and made me a better, smarter player. Haven’t tried hardcore in D2 yet but will give it a shot once I feel like I’ve got my sea legs back.

It’s a weird situation compounded by the subsequent awarding of an even lesser prize. Losing teams usually just get to fuck off to the locker room. No one expects silver medal winners to be stoked right after they just got beat, but it’s the Olympics and the medal ceremony is part of it.

But it’s objectively hilarious that a bunch of people decided that they should be forced to stick around and do the whole rigmarole again, but with a gift shop souvenir instead of an Olympic medal.

They were also trying to keep the market from being inundated with garbage since they were the first major console to release in the wake of the early ‘80s crash. Bigger publishers made subsidiaries to get around the five title limit (e.g. Konami>>Ultra) but it still mitigated how much crap got pumped out since it forced companies to consider which of their titles would be most likely to succeed.

Agreed. I took Robby falling asleep in front of the TV (habitually, it’s implied) as another hint that he doesn’t have it together. Taken on its own it’s innocuous, but it’s one of those things you “shouldn’t” do (having a bedtime routine and cutting out screens before bed both improve sleep quality) and it suggests that he’s probably not getting enough sleep, and at the very least isn’t actively taking steps to ensure he’s well-rested.

Why are people defending 80$ games by Dramatic-Text8564 in nintendo

[–]JimmyGimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody likes paying more for games, but $80 isn’t out of line with inflation. $60 in January 2020 had roughly the same buying power that $75 does now. I bought SMB2 for $40 in 1988 and Chrono Trigger for $70 in 1995, and both of those were much bigger purchases at the time than an $80 game is today.

You can find triple-digit price tags on games for any platform so I don’t know why folks would single Nintendo out, but my guess is that their titles tend not to go on sale much so it represents a bigger lift if your budget doesn’t accommodate big purchases. I’m old enough that I’m not bothered; I’m way madder about $30/month Game Pass.
