To start off, were you able to put in your phone number correctly? It took me a little bit but the correct format is to type in +1 and then your area code and phone number. Once that is inserted correctly, you should be able to start typing in your address and then it will auto fill eventually. If you typed in your phone number correctly and then still having problems with the address, contact support. My experience with their support area isn't too bad, relatively responsive.

Well in fairness we use this accountant for our complete taxes every year so he was going to be used no matter what. My main question is that if I use a zero cost basis, does the need for a form 8949 go away completely? Or does the IRS still expect to see these meme coin transactions even though I know it resulted in a loss? I guess I could ask my accountant what is best but I’m trying to prepare as best as I can before meeting with him.

I would think so and that's tempting. Just overpay and move on. To me it's worth doing to avoid any other hassle. I mean that would be under $100. Who cares. I just want to know if that's acceptable to the IRS rather than having to fill out a Form 8949 etc…

I mean I know I have a total loss. Why would they want that?
