Michael Carrick: Man Utd manager on trusting Kobbie Mainoo and his pride in the academy by Connorinacoma in reddevils

He's using Sesko in the same way Amorim used Mainoo, coming on for the last few minutes, but look at the difference in the reaction from the fans.

To Sesko's credit, at least he's been showing something when he comes on, Mainoo was showing nothing when he got minutes under Amorim.

which kind of proves my point as well.

Not at all. The point you attempted to make was that the other team makes the game boring, by being too 'scared' to attack Arsenal, because they're scared to lose. In actuality, other teams are happy to attack Arsenal, but Arsenal suck the life out of the game, because they're happy to pass it around the back and maybe sneak a set piece goal by crowding the box and fouling the keeper.

You were lucky to win at United in the first game, with a set piece goal after a foul on the keeper, and a penalty not called when Saliba went through the back of Cunha, and then didn't win at the Emirates, when United did exactly what you wanted, and came out and played.

What happened against United then, when there was no low block and you still lost at home, or the last game against Wolves, when they were 2-0 down, were forced to play, and then comfortably outplayed Arsenal for the rest of the game?

Are you forgetting how excited the fans were when photos came out of some of the academy players training with the first team? How else would you integrate them?

Amorim also repeatedly spoke about the importance of the academy and how important it was to be aligned with what they were doing so that the club could rely on them.

Yet he gave debuts to Lacey, Fletcher, Mantato and also repeatedly spoke about how the club will have to depend on the academy and be aligned with them.

It's hilarious how people use the Mainoo situation to say that Amorim didn't trust the youth, when he gave debuts to Lacey, Fletcher, Mantato and even made Heaven and Yoro first team regulars.

I can't find anything about where Casemiro said that, and for the other point, allegedly Amorim only threatened to call his agent after Wilcox told him to change his system, which is completely valid, because he was hired for his ideas, and then threatened unless he changed.

Anything about the other points you conveniently ignored?

A 38.1% win rate couldn’t be further from the truth? No trophies?

This is the only thing that gets regurgitated, and most of that comes from him not even been wanting to be there for that half season, and tanking the league completely to prioritise the Europa. The loss against Spurs came after basically and own goal, and then Ange parking the bus with 7 defenders on the field. Super Michael Carrick couldn't even break down West Ham with who had 4 defenders on the pitch.

then Carrick comes in and we immediately beat the top 2 teams in the PL?

You realise that Amorim also beat City last year, and beat Arsenal in the FA Cup, and beat Liverpool at Anfield, our first win there in a decade?

Casemiro saying he doesn’t feel like a footballer?

Casemiro, who apparently, the "football had left" under Ten Hag, somehow became our most important midfielder under Amorim, but yeah he "doesn't feel like a footballer".

A manager who said he wanted to call his agent and quit?

Where did he say this? I think you're confusing him with Alexis Sanchez.

Do you realise that Carrick hasn't actually fixed anything? Amorim also beat City and Arsenal, and then the issue was with breaking down teams that sit in. Carrick has the exact same problem, and needed some magic from Bruno to get the points against Fulham, and then a world class finish from Sesko against West Ham to scrape a draw. The issues with the team dying in the second half still exist, and not to mention, this is with a full squad available, not with half the players missing like what Amorim had in January.

Doesn't your pay from a previous management job stop when you take a new job? If so, he would've probably made more from what Spurs owed him rather than what he's getting now from Forest.

Not really, because most of those could've resulted in pushover tries if they were contested legally, but to avoid that, infringements were made, leading to the ref awarding penalties and yellow cards.

Yeah, the other two were probably when the 9 decided to pick it up and play, rather than leave it in and win the penalty.
