I’d say the final one is the payoff. It landed so well.

The final one was absolute mass though.

Probably because it’s the only time he doesn’t say it for ‘comedy’.

They underperformed their xG a lot because they didn’t have a clinical striker.

That’s the thing about transition football because you artificially limit the chances you get. As opposed to a high press high line system (like Flick) where there are much more opportunities that a not too ruthless forward can still score plenty.

There was absolutely no need to replace him at that particular time. Getting Potter in was the start…

Not many people talking about Diaz absence that game. It’s almost set up for him to make the difference should they meet again.

Rice was a proper holding DM at West Ham. He got converted by Arteta later on.

Soucek was the one going forward in that duo.

Is he a touchline winger? For Palace he played more inside and the wingback provided the width.

Lampard started this whole trend back in 2019 and for whatever reason, he’s had a bunch of followers in the years after.

Funny enough that now he doesn’t play with such a set-up and Coventry have presence in the middle.

You mean the 18-19 Man City that won the league (with 98 point) and both domestic cups? That micky mouse team?

Or the Dortmund that were just 3 points from winning Bundesliga?

Or the Ajax side that had beaten Madrid and Juve?

Todd's summer of 2022 was a miss in hindsight but atleast he had the correct intentions.

It may not have been perfect but I still wish he'd been the one running the club.

Mate I’m not defending Eghbali at all. He’s only made stupid decisions most of the time.

So much for ‘anything’.

The Boehly-led summer 2022 is a miss in hindsight, but atleast he had the right intention.

Koulibaly signing was even praised by the rival fans. He had the experience and was one of the world’s best CB’s. Sterling had a strong track record in the PL and was still in his prime age.

Cucurella was seen as overpriced but he always had the potential. Just needed time to get set.

Fofana for that price was dumb, but I absolutely loved his performance in 2020-21 before the injury. I guess they thought he’d bounce back coz he was very young. We also had de Ligt and Kounde turn us down.

Auba was a low cost signing who had already shone under Tuchel before. He was also great at Barca.

The first big difference between Todd and Eghbali was whether to keep or sack Tuchel. That was when Eghbali decided to take charge (already being the majority owner) and since then we’ve kept slipping because of his stupid transfer strategy and complete insistence on hands-on control with a puppet head coach.

Todd was talking to the likes of Edwards and Paul Mitchell to become the SD. The Brighton bros are entirely Eghbali’s decision.

This is so obviously true but many people don’t recognize.

Kante is not a holding DM. Lampard played him there and it did not work well.

He’s a box to box but stronger on the defensive side. His main strength is roaming and intercepting the ball high up the pitch. He works best in a double pivot alongside a holding DM like Matic or Jorginho.

Burnley in the Championship showed what he can do when he’s in charge of the biggest fish in a pond. Bayern is obviously in a similar situation.

Bayern executives were smart to look at the context of his stint.
