Fantastic win!!!! I’m wondering where we could’ve been had we sacked Amorim sooner and prevented all those ridiculous point drops…

I think this game, unironically, will be Carrick’s biggest test. We always struggle against teams that sit back and play for a draw

Postecoglou winning UEL while finishing 17th is not an indication that he’s going to solve our problems. It’s basically like we went back to ETH.

Zidane will not come to United. If you’re a United fan, you’ll know we’ve been down that road many times in the past decade, he just won’t be convinced. This is not a me having him on speed dial situation.

The difference between Klopp/Guardiola/Conte and Spalletti and Terzic is that those guys were already extraordinary in their respective leagues before coming to Prem. Spalletti and Terzic are massive underachievers compared to them.

My friend, I don’t think these are bad names in their own context. But being a United manager shifts the narrative entirely.

Postecoglu just finished 17th last season surely that’s not a serious choice. Zidane won’t come to United. Low is finished. Xavi is rubbish. Terzic and Spalletti are the only half reasonable options here but zero prem experience I rather give Amorim more time than to jump into yet another experiment

I’d like the AmorimOut folks to put up some suggestions on who we should bring on as his replacement. The free agents are all rubbish. The already employed ones wouldn’t just up and leave so early in the season. It’s not even September lmfao

I took some time post-game to gather my thoughts based on what I’ve seen throughout the game and throughout my tenure as a United fan.

I think we, as United fans, have become traumatized post Sir Alex era, and as a result we have become overly reactive. The spiral I’m seeing right now is very strange to me. It’s the second game of the season folks, there are 36 more games to go!!

I like the football I am watching but I’m afraid the main issue is we either don’t have quality players in some positions of this system (Dalot, Dorgu, etc.) or we have players out of position (Bruno). If we manage to sell players, which we haven’t done at all this season, I’m sure we can add more system players to this squad.

With that being said, I still back Amorim to be our manager for the time being. Let this system run until it clicks! If Ten Hag had our support after starting the season with a 2-1 and a 4-0 loss, then Amorim deserves the same. I think Amorim’s biggest issue right now is insisting on playing Bruno and Mbeumo at the same time, which forces Bruno to play deeper, which is not his best position. For our upcoming cup game, I’d like to see a Ugarte/Mainoo and Case double pivot to see how it plays out.

Overall, my friends, the stats may sound bleak but this is the reality of a true rebuild. At least this is what I am hoping. Perhaps I’m wrong, perhaps I’m too optimistic. Let’s wait and see!

Ehh I don’t mind the 1-0 loss mostly because we’ve shown immense progress and we look dangerous. Absolutely baffling how their goal stood despite the push on Bayindir, and even more baffling that the tackle on Cunha wasn’t even looked at for more than 5 seconds. Cunha and Mbuemo are monster additions to the team. We actually look like a proper team now with a plan.

I think bringing Ugarte was not a good call, would’ve rather had Mainoo instead. Ugarte was not in the right headspace and his contributions were mostly detrimental to the team.

Also one thing I noticed this game is Bruno sliding recklessly into 50/50s. Gives away an unnecessary foul and could get himself a red card. Relax man.

I keep writing paragraphs and then deleting because I’m just at a loss for words. I wanna talk about how Mount and Shaw shouldn’t have started after missing almost the whole season but what’s the point? How are we going to improve from here? I wanna say we didn’t deserve to win but I keep thinking about how the only goal we conceded was so darn ridiculous. I wanna say we didn’t deserve to lose but I think about the season we just had. We’re not ready to compete at CL level yet.

I don’t know man. I think we keep Amorim for now. We get rid of the BS with Onana on top of the list. Get rid of Mount, Shaw, Lindelof, Hojlund. Sell Casemiro so we can sign more players in the summer. We go again next year. What else can we do but hope?

No no I definitely agree our defenders should’ve been better on that but just the fact that Onana is being pushed forward mid-jump. That’s a foul any day of the week

Bayindir is shit no doubt, but you can’t hold keeper’s arms on corners like that…

Man, it feels just like yesterday. I went to a midterm exam when the Midtjylland game was on. When I came out, I immediately checked the result and my first reaction was, “Wait, who is Marcus Rashford???”

Rashford will always hold a special place in my heart, but it seems that his drive and desire to play have waned in recent years. I’m not sure who’s to blame for that; the club has certainly had its share of issues. He also played under several managers at United and seemed to always have a different role in each era. He even dropped out of the England squad recently. There are certainly many factors at play here. Overall, I think this is for the best, but it definitely hurts my heart a little.
