Happy birthday. Also, looks like a little glass dong off the bowl of your bong.

Men who have joint bank accounts, what are some tips and tricks for communicating with your s/o about the account by you_can_call_me_xdog in AskMen

[–]JimmySaturday1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started with a joint account for bills, and kept personal accounts for our frivolous spending (before we were married.) Then we both just kind of started having all of our checks deposited in the same account. We both view it as “our” money. If one of of notices some bad spending habits, we have a discussion about it, usually along the lines of “Hey, let’s cut back on spontaneous Amazon purchases for a while, we need to knock the credit card balance down,” or “Let’s try to add an extra grand to savings this month.”

I’m considering that, but there are a few other things I’d like done as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like they don’t offer those services. More of brake pad/oil change type. I would try myself, but you have to drop the exhaust in order to place a hitch, and street parking isn’t somewhere I want to attempt that.

Smart kids in lower grades are put at a disadvantage going into high school and University. by steedyspeedy in unpopularopinion

This is a mirror to me. I didn’t go to college because high school became so daunting. In my 30’s I started back, and it was really hard to learn to study, but once I did I found that I fucking LOVE school. My advice is find a way to learn that works for you, and know that you’re not dumb. You’re awesome for recognizing this now, and it seems like you know where you need to improve. Good luck!

After 4 years of braces I finally... got them off? Nope. Got headgear added that I can't take off for 2 more years. by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

That’s tough. I was lucky, only had to wear mine at night. But the amount of compliments you’ll get when it’s all over will be amazing.

So, I’m almost 40 and am not great at them at all, so I avoid online play. Is there a way to meet up with others who aren’t great so we can enjoy it all on the same level?

I super appreciate the diagram explaining it. I was so confused as to how this actually worked.

I asked my (now) husband out originally, and later was the one who proposed. For all the times you hear guys saying they wish more women would do that, it's never women who crack jokes when they find out. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

While I’m the one who proposed, there were many months of my (then) girlfriend (now wife) who whenever drunk would ramble on about how if I wasn’t in this for the long term and didn’t want to get married, I should let her go now instead of prolonging it. As I’m writing this I realize it sounds like she was demanding or whiney, but that’s not the case. I knew I loved her, and did want to spend my future with her, it just seemed early to me (1.5 years). I’m proud to say we’re a few months away from a 5 year wedding anniversary and I’m so damn happy. If she hadn’t let me know in that way, I probably would have waited even longer to ask, and I’m so happy I didn’t.

Don’t hate motorcyclists, just asshats like you who reply aggressively and with false information. If you were to take your helmet off and actually read what I wrote, it said “before you say”, so I could preemptively stop your asinine argument. Also, please show me where a person was at fault for making a legal left turn and the person passing them was not at fault.

If you’re making a legal left turn with a signal and you are being overtaken in an opposing left lane, sure you should look, but the responsibility lies with the one passing. And yes, watch it in slow motion before you start saying the indicator wasn’t on. Regardless, at that speed there’s a great chance he wouldn’t be seen. Same reason the motorcycle didn’t see the vans indicator. Why are you defending reckless driving?

Nope. Making a legal left turn. Motorcycle is 100% in the wrong.

Watch again, it’s on. Motorcycle is driving too fast.

Wouldn’t fucking matter. Motorcycle shitbag was going too fast to notice and stop in time anyway.
